User buys a comic book and wants a refund because it’s a comic book
Hello, I sold a comic (as a private seller). It had been correctly listed among the comics, with publication year, artist, and also a photo of a page with drawings and comic panels, etc. (in the description I hadn't put anything though.)
the buyer pays, receives the comic and asks me for a refund saying that he didn't think it was a comic. How should I handle this? I did more than list it in the comics section, and take a photo of the panels… In theory, from what I remember, I shouldn't have set returns accepted, can he ask me anyway?
am I forced to accept it?

·3 years agoThe reason for the challenge, which at first glance seems like an implausible pretext, may instead have a more plausible explanation. You chose the comics sales category for your publications, BUT (but) they are not all comics. Some are books with glossy hard covers that feature an erotic or adventure comic, drawn by one or more illustrators known for the comic genre. And they are all in the same category except for the Garibaldi one, which has been correctly placed in books. In my opinion, this is the reason that misled your buyer. Do as suggested above also for your descriptions, which are a bit too brief. Regards from von.

OP3 years agoThank you all, it was definitely my mistake for not describing it better. I would point out, though, that in the second photo showing the back of the cover, it says comic, and in the third photo there’s a picture of a page with several drawn sequences…

·2 years agoIn any case, if the buyer has opened a return request for a non-conforming item, you are obliged to accept it even if you are a private seller; support will tell you that... so you will have to arrange the return at your own expense. If you do nothing, you risk losing both money and the item.
Kind regards.

·3 years agoAssuming you entered everything correctly and that the description made it clear that it was 1 comic, the buyer shouldn’t open a claim against you for item not as described.
If they do, contact support as soon as possible and have them call you on the mobile number linked to the account, or reach out to them via chat, because if you leave the handling of the claim to the algorithms, the claim will almost certainly be closed in the buyer’s favor. Better to deal with support directly.

·3 years agoA minimum description wouldn’t hurt.
If a user thinks it is something else, in my opinion the seller should consider describing future items better.
If the buyer wants a refund, they must open a return request; if you are a private seller, you can refuse to accept the return.
Kind regards.
