Seller with only one feedback for 8 items sold
Hello everyone. I made a purchase offer to a seller with 100% feedback. I checked afterward, the seller has 8 items sold, but that 100% comes from a single feedback received.
How is it possible that out of 8 items sold, they have feedback only on one item? The seller has been registered for 6 months.
Can you trust them? Is it possible to cancel the offer eventually?
Thanks

OP3 years agoThanks for the replies so far. Thanks so much, you’re very kind.
A quick question: the guy isn’t responding to the offer that expires today. What happens if he doesn’t respond? Does my offer get accepted automatically, or am I obliged to pay full price for the item? Thanks

If you still want the item, you can make a second offer or buy it at the buy it now price.

·3 years agoThere is an unwritten buying strategy that consists in minimizing or even eliminating every unknown in the sales lot. Before even looking at the item of interest, it is better to focus on who owns it. Sometimes getting an idea is less complicated than it seems. Observing how the seller presents the item helps us understand the owner’s cultural tools. And to sketch out a rough profile to understand the next steps. The posted photo tells us many other things: haste, perfectionism, creativity, and also the potential audience to whom the item is offered. Feedback helps in general, but it is not enough if it leaves doubts or inconsistencies open. A short, relevant question can be decisive. No response, or annoyed or curt replies, are already a warning sign in themselves. In some cases I would ask a seller who was offering an unusual item a question. The answer immediately gave an idea of the seller’s real knowledge of the item for sale. It is also fundamental to understand who the seller wants to sell to. Often sellers create their own imaginary target buyers because they want a potential buyer of a certain type for their sale. And if you read between the lines, you can tell whether or not you fit that category. When you start sorting things out and moving through the online sales jungle, out of 100 subjects, two or three remain. But you have to learn the ropes, as they say. And it is mandatory for expensive items, collectibles, or works of art. Regards.

·3 years agoCredit where credit is due, you're a user who has understood the spirit of eBay, you've left 73 feedback ratings and received 69, so you're an exemplary buyer, congratulations.
Unfortunately there are many buyers who don't care at all about feedback; all that matters to them is buying the item.
For this reason the seller has only one feedback received instead of 8.
Kind regards.

·3 years agoAs you've already been told, users often forget to leave feedback, especially positive feedback, but rest assured that when they're angry it doesn't take them 1 minute to leave negative feedback, and they often end up insulting more than describing what happened. Keep in mind that the users/customers who make the most noise are the angry ones, not the satisfied ones.
So that one positive feedback I think is already a good sign of the seller's reliability, since there are no neutral or even worse negative feedbacks.
Then if something goes wrong with the item shipped, or if it isn't shipped to you, you can activate eBay's refund procedures.

·3 years agoMore and more often users don’t leave feedback, especially when they sell inexpensive items. Collectors are generally more careful about leaving feedback for their sellers.
You can’t cancel the offer; on the web you always have to be careful, and in any case you can count on eBay’s customer guarantee. This guarantee can help you a lot if you know eBay’s procedures well.
