I'll tell you a little joke...
Hi, as per the subject here’s the joke:
I’m selling a book (1.99 + 2.45 shipping).
The buyer pays on NOVEMBER 1
I ship the book on NOVEMBER 3
On NOVEMBER 11 they leave me negative feedback: "The book still hasn’t arrived. Regards."
5, yes FIVE, business days have passed
(estimated delivery date from eBay 7/15 DECEMBER)
At the same time they send me an email asking: "when do you expect it to arrive?"
Putting the broken Italian aside, I reckon that as soon as they invent teleportation eBay will be a better place for everyone!!!
Then again, they could’ve just waited until Monday... why make me curse on a Sunday?
🙈

OP2 years agoHe got back in touch apologizing and saying he had mixed up the shipments!
I pointed out that he could have fixed it if I had sent him the feed revision request.
He accepted...

Have a nice Sunday.

OP2 years agoYeah... he was more spacey than anxious!

·2 years agoBut couldn’t you have waited until Monday and asked support if they would remove the red feedback before using up the review token?

OP2 years agoWell... in 20 years it's the first time I've used it and I hope I won't have to use it again before another 10 years have passed! 😅
But you're right, it would have been wiser to wait for support's response... and then anxiety is creeping, sneaky, and contagious!!! 🙄

·2 years agoYes, this is the anxiety from negative feedback from a serious, precise, and meticulous seller who would never expect something like that.
Seeing that red really doesn't go down well, I get it.
Anyway, you've found a buyer who gave you positive feedback before actually receiving the item 🤣😂
A true RARITY 😎

·2 years agoWell, I sincerely hope so!!
10 years ago the internet wasn't open to just anyone like it is today.
10 years ago things were definitely better online, today the internet, or rather what it has become...... (CENSORSHIP)....
In my opinion, given the times, eBay should at least double the review requests because they're still the same ones from 20 years ago 🤣😂

·2 years agoGood morning,
just yesterday I replied in another conversation "that so many monkeys are much smarter than certain human beings!"
This is a clear demonstration of it... despite the fact that you correctly stated that you ship within 15 working days and that the estimated delivery date was still well within the timeframe.
Since on ebay it is not possible to open a delay report before the delivery date, it should also prevent the possibility of leaving feedback before that date... but instead it seems everything is left to chance... and to "force" a clear reading order of the listings!
Sorry about what happened.
Kind regards.

OP2 years agoHi Sika
I set shipping to 15 days (I ship within 48 hours max) precisely to avoid having to keep explaining to terribly anxious users that the parcel is subject to delays and that eBay delivery dates are estimates and should be taken as such!
With this extension of the packing time, I may “lose” a few sales from people who read the listings (very few) and turn up their noses at a delivery about a month from now, but I’ve zeroed out the defect rate for late shipping and there’s no longer anyone (or almost, given the situation) asking me “where is the package”, “when will the package arrive”, “why hasn’t the package arrived yet” for a standard shipment that is very cheap but also very unpredictable when it comes to delivery times!

·2 years agoGood morning aracnotto
And thank goodness this user has a feedback score of 75......... 🙈
You ran into an impatient and definitely intolerant user who wants to spend as little as possible and wants to receive the item quickly...... while paying for the service with piego libri ......... 😎
I saw that you also offer registered mail, but given the increase in these people who don't have the patience to wait, I suggest you also consider a 24/48-hour courier.
Ebay shipping has rates with postedelivery business that are even cheaper than registered mail, with delivery to the post office for the seller and home delivery for the buyer.
Take a look.
Anyway, don't take it too hard.......
Rather, contact ebay support via chat or phone and point out that the estimated delivery date is for December so you can have that negative removed.
Best regards.

OP2 years agoHello heav...
I definitely don't take it personally... I've been around the place long enough to know that you can try to behave as well as possible but sooner or later the "genius" of the day shows up anyway!
I had a laugh (just like it was the joke above) and replied to the email. I was tempted to tell him where to go, but then I opted for a softer approach and even wished him a good Sunday! 😄
I've already contacted support (for now only by email, since that was the only option available) let's see what they say...
As for shipping: registered mail is still sent as a folded parcel, so cheaper than standard shipping (and almost always ignored by the buyer). A courier, no matter how discounted, never costs less than 5 euros!!!
