1 item only every 10 days, but it was just an offer
Good morning, a user with 0 feedback made me an offer but I didn’t reply.
Later I contacted him, explaining that I didn’t feel like accepting his offer directly because I didn’t know if he would pay, but if he had shown serious interest in the item I would have accepted his price and changed the listing to Buy It Now.
The user didn’t make any purchase from me, just an offer, yet when he tried to pay he got the message "the seller allows 1 item every 10 days". I had enabled that block in my settings and I tried to disable it but it didn’t work. I also have other active blocks, but I think that having received that message, the cause can only be attributed to the block related to 1 item x 10 days.
So does that block apply even if a user just makes a simple offer?

OP2 years agoI probably fixed it. In the selling preferences, when you uncheck "block buyers who have won or purchased 1 of my items in the last 10 days," you need to remember to also enable "apply these settings to current and future listings" before clicking "Send." Alternatively, I could have also entered the buyer's id in the unblocked users just above..

·1 year agoHi, it happened to me too about 2 years ago, you can find the post, but what was happening to me was that buyers were contacting me, they couldn’t buy directly with Buy It Now, they were told 1 item every 10 days, but with a purchase offer then they could buy and pay. They were people who had never bought from me, so the block didn’t make any sense. Anyway, it worked out well for you, 🤣here in the community the professors answered me, one said I don’t sell anything, others instead accused me of being a smartass, of being a company, a professional seller who plays smart and sells as a private individual. Because I have lots of items for sale. According to them, that was the reason for the block. In reality I never understood the real reason even though I contacted support several times and checked the settings.
the thing then resolved itself.

·2 years agoIf I were a buyer interested in one of my items and saw a block put in place to optimize a maximum purchase limit just because I only have 1 rating or maybe a big fat 0 like in the flour packages, even if I intended to, I’d go to another seller. If then I had to call them back because the second thoughts were mine as the seller, I think I’d have a really bad impression. Back in the day, people thought that if someone was a new user they wouldn’t pay. That’s not true. Or rather, not always. Once I made an offer on eBay France. I didn’t have even 1 feedback and I didn’t even know what they were. The seller blocked my offer 10 seconds before the end. I sent her a message in French telling her I was making the payment of 450 euros on PayPal and I didn’t understand her behavior. 5 minutes passed and I saw on the auction: the item is no longer available. The following message came after: desolé pour ma prècipitation mon ami ! Merci beaucoup pour l'achat, Mirelle. Salutations de Paris.😍 Greetings from von

OP2 years agoI understand your point of view. I have no prejudice against users with 0 feedback, also because they could be "guests" or users who sign up for the first time the day before, just to buy your item. On the sales block issue, I sell very few items and it was an option I had enabled, but it was useless in my case. Already once I had happened to sell to a guest who had just registered, but since he had bought and paid without making an offer, I had no choice but to ship it.
I didn't have second thoughts, I simply preferred to avoid accepting an offer, where the chance of non-payment is high from a user with 0 who may know eBay's rules less well, and go toward Buy It Now for immediate payment. But it turns out that a simple offer from the user is counted as a purchase and that's where I was surprised, since the user couldn't pay even though he had never bought from me, with the message "1 only item every 10 days". And trying to deactivate this option changed nothing.
In any case, I gave the user some advice. If you deal with small sellers and your account shows no signs of activity, at least write a message, ask for information first and you'll see that the small seller will be more at ease and inclined to sell you the item.

·1 year agoIf the buyer has 0 feedback and has never bought on eBay, it doesn't mean anything, you can't go in biased, convinced and sure that they won't pay you, buyers have 4 whole days to pay, and after that you really can't do anything except wait and then cancel. You'll realize that
there are also people with 600 feedback, who buy, send offers, then don't pay and don't write anything, not even
to cancel because they made a mistake. This is selling on eBay.
