Good morning everyone,
After years of selling on ebay (since 2012 I must have gotten maybe 2 negative feedbacks for ordinary mail not delivered) I find myself with a limited account because, over the past year, I canceled 8 transactions because I no longer had the items available for sale. Of these 8 items, 2 had been sold practically at the same time on other platforms, so I had to cancel the sale on ebay. The other 6 were damaged items, so they were no longer suitable to be sold.
EACH and every single time I refunded the buyers within 1 hour or less, always.
That said, I don't see why I should be classified as a below-average seller given that I haven't harmed anyone nor scammed anyone or wasted anyone's time.
Moreover, to get back to the ideal status as seller level, I would have to make dozens of sales in a short time, something impossible for someone who is a private individual and not a professional seller. I can't even put items up for sale because of the limitation, so it seems like a total rip-off to me.
What should I do? Contact support somehow? I can't find an email or contacts anywhere, and then I'm sure they would reply with the usual prewritten email without solving my problem.
The only solution I see is to delete the account, throwing away 463 feedback earned over 11 years of selling, and create a new one.

·5 months agoThe same thing happened to me and there’s no way they’ll change my position " below average ". I’m also a private seller and in about three years I’ve sold items for around euro 25,000. But the more serious thing isn’t being " below average " — it’s that all my items still for sale, about 3000 of them, have been pushed by eBy to the last positions. Bye.

And the DAC07?

·5 months agoAccording to the latest available data, about 30% of Italians do not file any tax return.
Probably for the user in question, the DAC7 issue doesn’t really arise.

·5 months agoYou have to wait for the average to go back up, which takes time and, above all, requires orders to be fulfilled and not canceled.
It seems logical to me that being below average entails limitations; otherwise, what would be the point?

·3 years agoexactly, you’ve been selling since 2012........ never thought about reading E-bay’s rules and then keeping yourself updated?
for years now the defects for cancellations due to item no longer available (whatever the cause/reason was) have been in place, so with 8 defects in a year (for, I imagine, not that many sales transactions) the account limitation is almost inevitable;
that said, you don’t necessarily have to close the old account since, as things stand, it doesn’t appear to be forbidden to have another one

OP3 years agoHow could I not cancel the sales? I would have had to ship items that were defective and that would have been a problem.
I understand that now I’ll have to say goodbye to this account and start over from scratch

·3 years agoIt sounds bad to say... not treating ebay like a game... not putting defective items up for sale... not putting the same items up for sale on multiple platforms...
Kind regards.

·3 years agoItems are checked before putting them up for sale, not after they've been sold.
This is because you knew that any cancellation on your part would have counted as a sales defect. That's why I had written that There are rules that are accepted and must be respected.

·3 years agoIt is your right to be able to cancel orders (and in fact you can)
It is your right to be able to sell on multiple platforms at the same time (and in fact you can)
It’s just that on eBay there are written rules that warn you that if you cancel sales too many times (once can happen and nothing happens) you get "restrictions".
So if you want to sell on eBay without getting restrictions, you need to organize yourself differently.
You need to check the items you sell BEFORE, not AFTER, the sale to make sure they work.
When you sell an item elsewhere, you need to remove it IMMEDIATELY from eBay without waiting days.
It’s hard to sell the same item at the same time on eBay and on Subito (for example) on the same day and at the same hour.
Best regards.

·3 years agoHello,
maybe it would have been better to ask what I “should” have done... the answer is not to cancel orders!
The issue is not having caused problems for others... but the problem is that you’ve created problems for yourself, drastically reducing your performance... because every cancelled sale corresponds to a defect in your performance.... so you should make it up as you already said, by making numerous sales...
Unfortunately, this is eBay...
Kind regards.

·3 years agoUnfortunately those cancellations can’t be ignored; from the buyer’s point of view, it’s never pleasant to have a purchase canceled (especially when there’s a suspicion that the seller wasn’t happy with the price they got at auction).
I could also tell you that in cases of simultaneous sales you could have given precedence to eBay and that you could have checked the items before putting them up for sale, but all of that wouldn’t be of any use now.
There are rules that are accepted and that must be followed.
