hi, I’m very, very disappointed with eBay. I get the impression that the buyer is the one who’s more protected here, but I think eBay should understand that it gets its money from sellers.
I closed an auction on December 21, I waited a few days, today is December 27, I contacted support in chat and they tell me there’s not much that can be done and that I can put the item back up for sale (no wait, I’ll keep it packed like this sitting there) obviously I have to put it back up for sale...
I find eBay’s behavior truly awful, I’ve been an eBay user since 2001, precisely since User since: Feb 10, 2001, now I find out that it’s not possible to leave negative feedback for a situation like this, perfect, the buyer got away with this...
I just hope negative feedback can be left again, some buyers can’t just leave people hanging like this
it happens to everyone to make mistakes, or change their mind, but here we’re a long way from a mistake...

·3 years agoYou have been on ebay since 2001 and have already made quite a few sales.
As you well know, for a decade or more now it hasn’t been possible to leave negative feedback for buyers anymore.
And honestly, I really don’t think ebay will go back to the past and bring back the possibility of leaving negative feedback for buyers too.
If you haven’t received payment, canceling from the fourth day onward is FREE, the only thing left is the annoyance of having waited a few days and having to relist the item.
I’m sorry, but these are things that can happen, don’t take it too hard, these things happen, there are worse things, trust me 😎

·2 years agoWell, basically I don't agree with those who say you only waited a few days... Since listings and promotion aren't free and that's money eBay pocketed.... I've been on eBay a long time too, I've only been doing auctions for a very short time and out of 5 items, 5 were awarded and none paid! Meh

I think that with the phrase "I get the impression that the person who is more protected here is the buyer" you’ve discovered something obvious; it’s well known that it’s the buyer who is more protected... and furthermore you’re wrong when you say "that ebay should understand that it gets the money from sellers", if there were no buyers, who would give money to ebay?
It’s thanks to them that ebay can collect commissions from sellers!
As for negative feedback, since 2008 ebay has decided to prevent sellers from using it, I don’t think they’ll go back on that... and I don’t even see why; if he doesn’t pay, after 4 days I put it back up for sale and he gets a nice warning.
After this, I’d like to point out that as a private seller, you "wouldn’t be able" to sell new items; it’s hard to believe you have such a large collection of bricks...

·3 years agoIf you report the non-payment of an item, the warning is automatic!
If there were no sellers there would be no buyers either... if there were no buyers, a seller would make no sense at all...

·3 years agoYes, but where is the “warning” shown? Where does it say that someone is a non-paying buyer?! The seller can only see the buyer’s feedback, not any possible “criminal record”?? Hmm…?!

·3 years agoThe warning shows up on the buyer’s account... the seller can’t see it... just as the buyer can’t see the defects on the seller’s account...
What’s the point of seeing the buyer’s “criminal record,” given the fact that the seller can’t choose who buys their items?
If a buyer doesn’t pay, you find out when they’ve made the purchase...
So what would be the point of your comment?

·3 years agoWarnings that are from the buyer or the seller can only be seen by eBay support. No user, not even the best seller or buyer, can see them.
And that’s better this way. I’ll explain why: if a seller or a buyer had even just 1 warning (it can happen to anyone sooner or later, even without fault or intent), a climate of mistrust would immediately be created in the other party.
For example, years ago I bought 2 items from 1 seller and asked for a combined invoice to pay a single shipping fee. I had already bought from this seller several times without any problem. But the last time it happened that, despite my reminders, he no longer replied and the auctions went into the unpaid status. Then the seller replied saying that he had had personal problems and, apologizing, confirmed that it had not been the buyer’s fault, that is, mine. With these messages I contacted eBay support, who confirmed that I had warnings on my account for unpaid items but that they had removed them because it was clear that the cause was not attributable to the buyer who was waiting for the invoice to pay.
This shows that it is useless and counterproductive for warnings to be visible to users, since they serve eBay to manage accounts and therefore only support is authorized to access them.
