Help and advice: ongoing restrictions on eBay account for sex toys, despite compliance
Summary: A discussion raised by totalshop-24 concerns problems encountered on eBay due to ongoing account restrictions for selling sex toys, despite compliance with the guidelines. marioelegio and heavenwelkin participated, but the details of their comments are not specified.
Hello everyone,
I'm looking for advice from anyone who has had similar experiences with eBay. I have been a professional seller for several years, with over 2577 positive feedback and a 99.8% positive rating, with annual sales of around €150,000.
Since February 2026 I have had problems with sex toy listings. At that time eBay changed the rules and started removing dozens of my listings (over 200), including products that, according to the new guidelines, were allowed because they were not realistic.
I have had several account restrictions:
- A first 3-day restriction, where I couldn't list new items, but sales continued.
- The first 7-day restriction, account completely limited, no sales possible.
- The second 7-day restriction, started 3 days after the end of the first 7-day restriction.
- Now they have already notified me of a third 7-day restriction, while the second one has not even ended yet.
I tried contacting eBay support by email and phone, asking for help to understand which listings I could keep and which ones I should remove, but I was told they couldn't do anything and I just had to wait. Even after removing all the sex toy listings, the system keeps detecting violations and imposing automatic restrictions.
My main business is on eBay, with sales transferred from other channels, so every restriction causes significant financial damage.
I wanted to ask: has anyone had similar experiences with eBay for sex toys or other products subject to “borderline” rules? How did you resolve the situation? Are there ways to avoid repeated automatic restrictions?
Any advice or similar experience would be really helpful.
Thanks!

·6 months agoRecently a similar discussion was opened by another seller who complained that at first he had been allowed to sell adult items but then things changed and he received restrictions on new items that could not be listed.
He was struggling with support, but then I don’t remember if he managed to resolve it.
I tried to look for the discussion but couldn’t find it.
If I manage to find it, I’ll paste it here.
Best regards
