Offer cancellation

Good morning
On one of my listings with the dual format auction + Buy It Now, a user made an offer.
Right after the end of the listing (one minute later), the user requested to cancel his offer, stating that he had changed his mind. Since about a day had passed between his offer and the cancellation request, I sent a message to understand what the reasons were for the change of mind.
The user did not reply.
I have 3 days to accept or reject the cancellation (one day is still left), but I believe that the lack of response to the message is a sign of the user's poor seriousness.
For this reason, I am inclined to reject the cancellation.
What advice can I be given on this and what would be the consequences both for me (seller) and for the buyer?

·5 months agoOn the one hand, Ebay gives you the option to refuse the cancellation, but on the other it never really protects you with any certainty when the buyer decides to refuse the package or later decides to open a dispute to return the item and get a refund.
In my experience, I recommend going along with the buyer's decision because an annoyed buyer can find a way to get their money back even if ebay rules against them (for example through a PayPal dispute or a bank chargeback), and in some cases you could still end up losing that money yourself, reaching the extreme situation of losing both the item and the money in the event of a bank chargeback, so if you want peace of mind, cancel the sale and move on.

Your opinion is clear and detailed: you mentioned aspects I had considered, but you added further elements that I had not taken into account.
Indeed, the risk of losing both money and the item is considerable.
Not to mention that the advice aimed at peace of mind is very respectable.
