Shameful chat support
Summary: Participants shared their dissatisfaction with the current chat support system on a platform, criticizing the reliance on artificial intelligence and unresponsive human operators. They noted that the lack of effective help is driving sellers and buyers away. cicos755 reminisced about better past experiences and explained his decision to reduce the number of shops due to declining service quality. Other participants suggested that even community advice is often unhelpful, with responses that are copied and pasted from regulations. There is a call for reinstating phone support or improving current methods to offer real and timely problem resolution.
Ridiculous chat support, the artificial intelligence answers and has no idea what it's saying, it's shameful - change course or you'll lose the few sellers and buyers left.

·3 days agoSimply, Customer Support (= the sellers) has been eliminated, in short it’s no longer there, kaputt.
In its place, a "chat" handled by a stupid A.I. and, secondarily, by some unmotivated Indian operator (veeeery cheap).
The goal is to save to the bone by mimicking the cheap Vinted.
The difference is that at least Vinted has a European view of things, whereas eBay’s is now a mystery.

·4 days agoit has become a nightmare, they send you back to the expert by email, and it's the same. they don't read what you write, even when speaking in English they give you disconnected responses made by bots and AI. A disgrace. Phone support was eBay's strong point and they removed it. for a problem that in the past I had solved with a call and half a day of waiting, now I've been contacting them nonstop for 10 days and they don't understand anything I'm asking. truly disgusting, if they don't fix it, I'll leave the platform.

·1 week agoGood morning, yes I confirm the absence of phone support, something I found out the hard way last week.
If there was one thing that, for better or worse, helped, it was exactly the phone support.
Now to solve a problem, it takes moooooore time.
Operators who reply to you slowly, chat that gets interrupted, difficulty making yourself understood and difficulty understanding.
Yes, even understanding!
The last time I needed help, 4 different operators took turns in the chat.
In fact, one of them replied to me writing in mangled Italian and with incomprehensible reasoning; when I pointed it out, he told me "Sir, I am a human operator, not a chatbot, we are speaking Italian, what is you don't understand" I should laugh but unfortunately all you can do is cry, thinking about how it was before and how it will be...
I am not asking for who knows what, but replacing the old number with a system where professional sellers can book a call, maybe with longer waiting times than before, but at least receiving human and real assistance...
Lastly, I think the worst is yet to come, all in line with "less to more" applied worldwide to everything...
Sorry for the "rambling", good luck...

·1 week agoI’ve been selling on EBAY since 2000, and for a while I was also a moderator in disputes for my category. I had 3 stores and now I only have 1 because the more time goes by, the worse things get. Chat support is the peak of decline; you ask a question and they reply several minutes later, and even then incorrectly.

·4 days agoalso, in case chat support doesn’t satisfy you
you can choose:
Other options for you: ask the community
there are certain characters......they don’t buy and sell and they give advice without any experience with tons of answers made of copy and paste from the rules....then if you say something to them, they attack and take offense because they feel active replying in the huge Ebay community...
they have tons of badges like the best ones.....
what a messssss we’re becoming.....

·4 days ago · EditedI’m repeating the invitation, given the number of feedback points you have and the length of time you’ve been on eBay: show what you can do, criticising is easy enough, this is the moment to prove your abilities (so far carefully hidden) by replying and helping other users, the community is full of posts that no one has answered, you can give it a try and finally everyone will be able to appreciate your abilities (like “launching polls” that no one answers).
In the meantime, for your information, people who copy and paste do it because usually those who write don’t even bother to read the rules, such is the rampant functional illiteracy among those who come into the community convinced they’re asking the question of the century, but no one takes offence (imagine that, and over what? from whom?), rather you get a reply; the reply may not please you but the community is open to everyone and it’s not up to you to decide who, what and how.
You show your great experience then, and you’ll see how many badges they’ll give you; the fact is that, reading your posts in the community, I haven’t noticed a single reply that wasn’t weak, not even one worth mentioning, just questions - not particularly interesting, probably only for you - like those that all the people who come here ask, but who don’t consider something as simple as it is obvious: if everyone asks but among all those who ask (demanding the perfect answer) no one replies, they end up with the community exactly as it is.
As already said to you and other “keyboard lions”, wait for the perfect answer, you’ll see it will come.

OP3 weeks agoThe support provided in chat is terrible it will drive away the few sellers and buyers left on ebay.
lupin-5646
·3 weeks agoExactly.
Nowadays only bots reply, and often late or with vague responses.
There’s no longer any guarantee of support like before, and in case of problems this makes everything apparently less secure.

·3 weeks ago · EditedPersonally, after a bureaucratic snag they can’t seem to resolve, I think I’ll switch sites to buy from. You can’t make me send dozens of requests with no reply when the package has been at the Fermopoint for 10 days and can’t be unlocked.
If I had known, I would have bought directly from the seller’s site or elsewhere
diegob1972
·1 week agosupport already before didn’t resolve it, you had to deal directly with the buyer or the seller. now it’s been "officialized". the chat is managed by bots 90%
