Electronic self-invoices
Hello, I’m a company (VAT taxable person) and regarding the introduction of the electronic self-invoice for purchases abroad I would like to ask: Ebay sends every month invoices with a summary of the commissions withheld during the month. The invoices are already settled since those expenses are directly deducted from the credits I receive on the sales I make. Every time I receive a credit I issue the receipt, so I pay VAT in Italy on all the receipts I receive. I do not record Ebay’s invoices, so I do not deduct the cost. Is the system I follow correct? In light of the new laws on electronic self-invoicing, do I still need to issue the self-invoice for the invoices I receive from Ebay?
Thank you

Yes, for the commissions you have to issue a self-invoice, since eBay is based abroad. In the self-invoice you have to enter the amount of the eBay deductions, under reverse charge. In any case, ask your accountant; mine let me know today.

·3 years agoIt depends... only if ebay invoices you without VAT!!
If ebay invoices include VAT, you've already done your duty, you don't need to issue any self-invoices!
Kind regards.

·3 years agoHello,
I think a question like this should be asked to a good accountant... unfortunately, not having a physical store either, I don't know how to answer you...
Best regards.
