Permanent eBay account suspension
Hello everyone,
for the past month I have been permanently banned from eBay as a seller.
I was surprised by this unfair decision, made without any specific, reasoned criteria by the eBay service center.
I find it inappropriate that eBay does not give users the right to appeal these decisions. Moreover, it is astonishing to see that a user like me, who has been around since 2011, gets banned in this way.
However, what I find even more frustrating is the decision made by customer service to block the credits for items sold on my bank account for 60-72 days.
I think a decision like this is totally illegal and out of control. Financial institutions have the legal right to block clients' funds if they notice fraudulent or money laundering activity.
The blocking of the account of a seller who sold and shipped the products to the buyers without receiving any complaints is UNFAIR.
I am writing here to start a debate and to protest against this illegal and coercive system imposed by eBay.
I am aware that those who use a platform like eBay must abide by the imposed rules. But from 2011 to today the internal policy has changed many times and I have never received any updates about it.
Thank you to all readers.

·2 years agoGood morning to everyone participating here.
It happened to me too.
Unfortunately, they didn't specify why. In fact, I also feel like I am in an unfair and illegal world.
But do you think there is any chance of appealing even if it is not appealable.
It seems to me that the operator's decision was wrong, or else the requested documentation didn't arrive due to a technical error

·2 years agoThe reason can be guessed from your selling system... do you have invoices for what you were selling?
Do you have any documents proving its lawful origin?
If you were not able to provide such requests, it is right that eBay expels you.
Best regards.
mariovanoti
·2 years agoWe replied by attaching the requested documents from Ebay support!
We did not have the purchase invoices for the material that was for sale at the time of the request. Therefore we were asked to send photos of an identity document next to each item for sale. And we did. The only problem is that these photos are either not attached or were blocked by the proxy... who knows.
The next email stated that the account was blocked with no possibility of appeal.
We followed all the instructions!!! We have now also managed to retrieve the invoices from our collaborators (we repair electronic boards).
But unfortunately we can't contact the person in charge to review our case again.
It is very disappointing. Very. very..

·2 years agoCizeta, good morning. Sorry, I didn’t understand what you mean?
vonbalden
·2 years agoThe cizeta refers to the fact that you are registered as a private seller and a private individual is offering for sale items kept in the family over time. Modern antiques that are hard to find, whose main characteristic is that they are used, out of commerce for decades. If, among your items that then come from the land of rice, you add the note 'Brand new !' (literally brand new) it’s like leaving breakfast with the open jar of honey and jam on the picnic table in Yellowstone park. And then jumping in alarm, swearing, while a family of black bears clears everything off the table. Even the tent.

I saw that in the first one you used the term "unfair" and "illegal".... points of view.....
On eBay you can open two types of accounts.
Professional account and private account.
You are a private account but you are selling, or rather you "were selling", the same type of items in multiple quantities, then as you were told you used terminology that is usually used by professional accounts.
Revised (a private seller cannot do refurbishing)
New blades and battery (used with new blades and battery, an item from a private seller that should be used??)
Also available with ac220 (here it means you can sell it in either the 110 or 220v version)
Then you sell replacement boards in multiple identical pieces.
If eBay asked you for documentation justifying this type of unregulated activity, it simply wanted to verify everything before making its final decision.
But even by sending the requested documentation, in my opinion you started off on the wrong foot by opening a private account with very few feedbacks and offering refurbished machines, new blades and batteries, selectable voltage, and you definitely set off the algorithm by selling those boards as REFURBISHED.
A private seller must act as a private seller and cannot start selling refurbished spare parts.
In conclusion, for this type of activity you should have regularized things; you could not keep doing it with a private account.
I'm sorry but you blew the account and your name on eBay, this means that if you try to open another account in your name it will be blocked.
GAME OVER
Kind regards.

·3 years agoHi, the same thing happened to me.
I wanted to ask you whether you have already been paid and whether they paid you 60-72 days from the sale or from the account restriction.
thanks

·3 years agoGood morning
I don't know what kind of debate you want to start here on the forum, given that we only have your version of the facts.
In this post you only refer to alleged responsibilities on eBay's part, but you make no mention at all of how far you went beyond the platform rules.
Is it believable that you didn't violate any rule and eBay removed you without reason?
Kind regards.

OP3 years agoThanks for the comment.
I sold 5 miner units here on eBay.
Through my contacts with trusted Chinese suppliers, I sold and shipped the products to buyers without encountering any problems.
My goal was to sell on eBay to offer buyers greater assurance, since in the world of cryptocurrencies there are tons of scams around.
I was scammed in the past and wanted to share my experience and knowledge in the field in order to offer buyers a safe service. In fact, I always informed buyers about it and offered them a refund if they did not want to accept the purchase conditions.
All of a sudden eBay started checking my profile, asking me for documents and receipts. I had no problem providing them with the requested documentation and I was very cooperative.
A few days later I received a call from support informing me that my account had been permanently blocked with no possibility of appeal.
I was stunned and asked support to explain the reasons for this block without receiving any response. I also asked whether there was a possibility to correct the mistake, but nothing.
Now I have my account permanently blocked and 3 items sold and shipped with funds blocked for 60-72 days.
I have found here on the forum that dropshipping is not a permitted practice on eBay. If I had known আগে, I would not have sold the units using this practice. I take responsibility for my mistakes.
However, to me it is unfair that eBay does not give sellers a warning before permanently blocking the account, or at least give them the possibility to appeal.

The violations for now are two.
damianaccio93
OP3 years agoHardware for mining virtual currencies is permitted.
There are professional vendors who sell the same items.
heavenwelkin
·3 years agoI can't know whether you were selling only hardware or also other services associated with it; I'm only finding this out now.
So if you were "compliant" from that point of view, you weren't with regard to the dropshipping issue.
Dropshipping, which elsewhere cannot be done as a private individual, while on eBay it is outright prohibited.
sika700
·3 years agoWith all due respect, does it seem "legal" to you instead to sell, with a private account and clearly doing "business," brand-new items in quantity?
The abuse is obvious... and what did you expect from eBay?
If you want to stay calm on eBay, you need to get yourself in order!
Also remember that if this account is linked to the suspended one, it will soon meet the same fate.
Best regards.
technopartsbay
·3 years agoAnd, I’d add, also in dropshipping... 😁
damianaccio93
OP3 years agoI had never read that dropshipping was an anti-policy practice according to eBay.
On the Tube there are thousands of videos that promote dropshipping on eBay.
Anyway, my mistake was not having read eBay's internal policy and asking for more information. But that doesn't change the fact that permanently blocking an account without appeal is correct.
damianaccio93
OP3 years agoThanks for your comment.
Let’s say the word abusivism is a bit too much.
In the past I sold used items here on eBay with 15% commissions as a private seller. Never had any problems.
I sold some miners to test the market, with the intention of switching to a professional seller profile.
If it had been against policy, I would have acted immediately to "get myself in order" from day one.
However, eBay does not give you the right to appeal these drastic decisions, which is wrong.
sika700
·3 years agoBut do you think I can open a pizzeria as a private individual to “test” how it goes, and then make it legit later??
Does that seem to make sense to you?
If you buy specifically to resell, no policy can save you, you’re operating illegally if you have a private account... it’s just a matter of common sense!
Kind regards.
damianaccio93
OP3 years agoI previously specified that my poor knowledge of the internal policy is my fault, and I acknowledge that.
I didn’t open a pizzeria without a license as you describe. I sold a few units to test the market. I didn’t sell 100 units in a month as an “unauthorized seller.”
You don’t need a license if you sell 5 pizzas in 3 months...
I didn’t open an e-commerce site to sell a few units. I would have done that if sales had been higher. Moreover, eBay does not oblige any user to sell these items or others solely and exclusively as a professional seller.
Very likely you are right on that point, but you did not get to the heart of my complaint - namely that eBay does not give sellers a warning before permanently blocking the account, or at least the opportunity to appeal.
heavenwelkin
·3 years agoSo eBay should send emails to warn users that they are violating the rules.
I imagine that eBay should also explain to the user, in detail and step by step, which violation they are committing.
Then it should warn the seller to get into compliance within a certain number of days.
The seller might close the auctions from that account and reopen them on another, and in the meantime, while eBay doesn't notice, keep on doing dropshipping........ 😃
So why write the rules on the site if everyone is then given the luxury of breaking them?
Kind regards.
damianaccio93
OP3 years agoI agree with your point of view. I didn't want to sell the items on eBay with the intention of breaking the rules. I would never have done that. Unfortunately I didn't know, and I take responsibility for it.
But it's not fair that my account was permanently blocked with no appeal.
A warning would have been appropriate, with a suspension for a medium-long period.
We learn from our mistakes, and imposing a penalty commensurate with the mistake is more than fair. But sentencing someone to life imprisonment just because they drove the wrong way down a little street is excessive.
We all have to respect the rules, and those who don't should be punished sensibly.
heavenwelkin
·3 years agoAssuming that auctions are still being seen as active by a private seller selling new items in dropshipping from China and Hong Kong.
Assuming that if I go to look at the information, I read about a private seller there is a clear contact email address and the location says Malta.
If this account of yours is registered under another name and therefore is not associated with the blocked one, I advise you to fix it and update it, removing the auctions that violate the site rules.
I don't know if you know, but we are still talking about algorithms and automated systems.
All these processes are managed by artificial intelligence.
There are no physical moderators spending the whole day among the auctions looking for offenders to fine.
Kind regards.
