Good morning everyone, if I sell an item for 10,000 euros?

If I sell an item for 10,000 euros, what happens? Does the tax police come to my house? I'm an occasional seller without a VAT number. Thanks for the advice

No figures / limits are listed on the page.

I can tell you though that:

A zero-feedback account, beyond the €3,000 limit which would be the maximum limit for one item or multiple items for sale, MIGHT also have other selling restrictions.

So in order to sell such a high-value item, you need a certain amount of selling experience, meaning you need to have completed a certain number of successful sales, you need to be a regular seller, in the sense that you need to sell a certain number of items continuously / consistently throughout the year, and preferably you shouldn’t have post-sale issues with buyers.

For you, the problem wouldn't be the Financial Police.

Sell the item and then ,,,

A dispute is opened against you, with an excuse, for item not as described.

You lose the dispute,,,your payment gets blocked and you'll be sent a brick.

Never sell expensive items on eBay, NEVER.

Opportunity makes the thief....

The Italian economic situation is no longer what it was 10 years ago, so it would be better to set a cap on the value of items for sale that you're willing to risk losing everything.

Then let’s also consider the courier “risk”.

In my opinion, never state the real contents of items in detail when it comes to expensive and highly sought-after items.

Going back to what I said earlier, if I had to hypothetically ship a 5000 euro macbook pro (something I WOULD NEVER DO) I certainly wouldn’t describe the contents of the package so specifically but would keep it GENERIC.

IT equipment or electrical equipment in general, I use these generic descriptions as the declaration of the package contents.

Then of course there is still the issue that the value of the package must be declared in the case of insured shipping but these details SHOULD NOT be visible on the waybill, so in theory the operators who handle the packages should not know the value of the contents of a package but only the description of its contents.

Precisely for this reason, when I downloaded the PDF labels from eBay's Shipping Manager, I sometimes modified them where the product category appears. For example, I sold several used Komandirskie watches at prices between 40 and 60 Euro, and the description on the label said "Watches and jewelry". An invitation to open the package! So I wrote "Collectibles" and printed the correct label.

I fully agree with the latest posts: do NOT sell high-value items on E-bay (given the regulations) and, if possible, indicate something generic in the package contents (without getting too specific), in order to avoid "unpleasant" consequences
