Fee calculation. The numbers don't add up.
Hi, I just signed up on eBay as a professional user on behalf of my employer.
However, we still haven't figured out how the fee calculation on the item works. I read that there is a fixed fee of €0.35 and a percentage based on the category, which being children's clothing and accessories should be 11%. Correct?
If an item sold in the store is €119.99, how much should it be sold for on eBay without counting shipping and PayPal fees?

·3 years agoIf you want to receive from ebay the same amount you would have gotten by selling in store...... the math is very simple.
(119,99 + 0,35) : (1 - 0,11) = 135,22
Out of 135,22 Ebay will withhold the commission of 14,88 (equal to 11% of 133,58) and an additional 0,35 for a final net of 119,99
As for the account, I have the same concerns as Morgana. The account must be in the name of the company or its legal representative. If you open it in your own name, what VAT number do you give ebay? Which checking account do you link to the account to receive payments? If you link your own, you expose yourself to all the tax authority checks ...
The two questions reveal a serious lack of preparation on your part, from a business point of view, perhaps it's better to get help from an accountant.

Thanks for the clarification.

·3 years agoHello,
I’m not clear on the situation; in order to receive the credits related to sales, you need to enter the IBAN of the bank account in the name of the user/business registered with the corresponding VAT number. From what I read, the registration is in your own name on behalf of your employer. The user should be the business... you cannot act on behalf of third parties unless there is explicit authorization from the business registered on eBay (as a helper, for example) and after notifying eBay.
As for the price, there is no rule; it depends on the markup you are used to applying. In any case the buyer pays eBay (in the ways established by eBay), which then pays into the seller’s account after deducting the selling fees (excluding PayPal costs, which are included in the fees). For the rest, eBay’s fees are here https://www.ebay.it/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/tariffe-per-venditori-professionali?id=4809&st=3&pos=2&query=Tariffe%20per%20venditori%20professionali&intent=tariffe&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1443
