Misconduct by buyer
Good morning, dear sellers,
I want to share with you the experience I had with a buyer.
I sold an item for about €40, with a 2-day handling rule and 3-5 day shipping.
In short, I shipped the item on Monday and on Friday the buyer receives the ordered product. I shipped the item with UPS, so with signature on delivery. The item was signed for with a name that was not the buyer’s. In the afternoon the buyer
sends me a PayPal dispute for non-receipt of the product. I showed PayPal all the necessary documentation and it was closed in
my favor. The buyer leaves me negative feedback but eBay removes it. After a few days the buyer calls me and sends me a message, saying that he wants to return the product because it has scratches. Rightly, he can’t open another dispute because he has already opened one with PayPal. I blocked him and reported him to eBay.
What would you do in my place?

·2 years agoI wouldn't do anything more than what you have already done.
The only thing left for him to do is to open a chargeback with his credit institution, but if he were to claim that the item arrived defective/damaged, it's not said that he would be able to get away with it, since there is already a PayPal dispute closed in favor of the seller, where he initially stated that he had not received the item.
Personally I would feel quite calm because, luckily for you, you ran into a buyer without experience when it comes to scams.
Best regards.

·2 years agoon the eBay level, after a dispute (buyer or seller, it doesn't matter.....) once you've blocked and reported them you've basically already done everything..... then there's the NON eBay level.....and here we enter a very subjective area (and also one of experience......)

·2 years agoIf he didn’t receive the item (dispute lost...) how can he expect to return it because it’s scratched? 😎
Jokes aside, block the phone number and any email address too.
Unfortunately, he still has the option of trying a chargeback on the credit card and, since he’s trying everything, sooner or later he’ll do it... 😐
