Allow the purchase of only one item per week in listings with quantity > 1
Summary: The thread concerns the proposal to limit purchases to one item per week in listings with a quantity greater than one. However, there are no further details or meaningful responses from the participants.
Hello, I’m selling 6 identical items in a single listing, that is, I created a listing by setting the quantity to 6 (see image below) but I would like to prevent users from buying more than 1 item in a single order and allow them to buy another item only after a few days (for example after 1 week or 10 days), is it possible?
Let me explain better: in some cases it can be convenient to buy multiple copies of the same item with a single order (for example 10 pencils), but in my case, since an item is worth more than 100 euros, I would like to avoid a user being able to buy all the items in the listing with a single order because in case of problems (for example, a dishonest buyer who claims to have received an empty package) I risk losing all the items in one go and not receiving the 600+ euros that are due to me. I imagine you’re thinking that the simplest solution would be to make a listing with a single item (that is, set the quantity to 1), but listings with multiple items have some advantages, for example the fact that some items have already been sold increases buyer trust; also, I imagine that a listing with items already sold is more popular in search results.
To sum up, I’d like to know whether, in listings with a quantity greater than 1, it’s possible to set a restriction that allows users to buy only one item every so many days (for example 7 or 10).

Kind regards.

·8 months agoI don't think it's possible.
Maybe Sika, who is experienced in sales, could add some more information.
In the meantime, here is the eBay page about listings with multiple quantity items.

OP8 months agoThanks Mario, I saw that on the page Buyer management | eBay there's this option
but I don't understand if it's really useful for what I need. If I activate it, I would expect that the user then can't buy more than one unit of the same item, that is, that they can't enter a number greater than 1 in this box
but is that really how it works?

·8 months agoThat USER BLOCK might work in the case where a buyer purchases 1 item the first time and then later another item.
But if the buyer purchases 2 or 3 items the first time, that block has no effect.
Anyway, you CANNOT STOP a buyer from buying just 1 item if you have multiple quantities available.
In conclusion: it is NOT possible to set a block that allows users to buy only one item every so many days. If you have 10 items (pieces) available, the buyer can choose whether to buy just 1 or anywhere from 2 to 10.
Best regards
