Dispute over item not received. What do I do?
Summary: The discussion concerns an item not received by vonbalden, who is asking for advice on how to proceed. heavenwelkin joins the conversation, but no specific details were provided about the advice or actions suggested. The situation remains unclear, with no definite resolution.
The buyer says that they received nothing. There is a well-founded suspicion that they want to take advantage of the situation by opening a dispute for an item not received. The seller, who has regularly shipped the item, must immediately respond to the buyer by providing the shipping code, thus making it clear that the item was properly delivered to the address provided by the platform. Right away! Within three business days, a prompt response action must be taken. But.. sometimes the seller puts themselves in situations that can facilitate certain unorthodox attempts. Describing your item for sale in detail and not limiting yourself to rewriting the headline title is essential to show observers that you know what you are selling. And automatically, you master the sales situation.

·6 months agoUpdate:
I contacted the buyer via sms and told them to make sure someone would be there for the pickup scheduled for December 30 (second delivery attempt).
The item was duly delivered on December 30.
I asked the buyer to close the dispute but they haven't replied to me anymore, so I still have the dispute open.
I was lucky that the buyer didn't ask ebay to step in, otherwise within 1 ~ 48 hours I would have ended up losing the item and the money (about 60 euros).
How did it go for you, Von?

OP6 months agoQuite discreetly. I’ve only had a few doubts during these January days. I was wondering whether maybe I’m no longer in the collective imagination of my relatives and acquaintances. I was thinking of offering the gifts I received at Christmas on the platform. But I think I’ll just donate them to the church market. So, in order, here are all the gifts: a bottle of body cream with milk and honey. The dispenser, if you press it all the way down, suddenly pops out of the container. The little card only said best wishes. A box of mixed candied fruit. I don’t like candied fruit; I like dried, dehydrated apricots. That’s all. At lunch they asked me what nice things I sell. I was about to answer when a verbal scuffle broke out over the placement of the wines on the table, which were too far from the diners. I think Christmas nowadays, but this is just my own theory, are no longer what they used to be. My best regards.

·7 months agoJust today afternoon, they opened a case against me for item not received even though the package is still on the way because of shipping delays.
The buyer, look at what he wrote in the case:
In short, this buyer used the case to send me a message saying he wants me to reroute the package to another address.
This Christmas period has been a mess; usually I do fewer than 30 sales a year, but I received 10 orders between the end of November and December.
Delays of over 10~15 days on all deliveries.
Between refunds on shipping costs and various apologies I managed to get through this month without major losses, at least until today.
Science-fiction stuff for a simple private seller who, if he hadn't taken certain precautions and care, would have risked losing both item and money on as many as 10 shipments.
Then the most shocking thing is when eBay presses you to convince you to reduce delivery times to 1 working day.
Maybe in Germany a delivery that takes 15 days within the same country is impossible; in Italy lately it's the norm.
They send you reports with the most outlandish tips on how to improve your listings to increase sales, but they don't even remotely realize that a seller who finds themselves in the unpleasant situation of losing both item and money will almost certainly never see you on the platform again.
It's really a shame not to be able to sell items of a certain value on this platform anymore.
But you have to settle for selling items that, if they aren't trash, get pretty close.
Best regards.

·7 months agoI just checked the tracking corresponding to this dispute:
The dispute for item not received was opened for me today at 13:10
The tracking shows a failed delivery attempt at 14:42 (checked on the parcelsapp site)
Tomorrow there will be a second delivery attempt and we’ll see how things unfold.

·7 months agoIf the buyer opens a dispute for item not received, the only thing you can do on eBay Italy is write in the dispute that the shipment was accompanied by a tracking code.
From the tracking code, it turns out that the item was delivered.
In addition, you can try contacting eBay support, who will tell you that you're in the clear and that you'll win the dispute hands down.
If you lose the dispute you can appeal, but certainly the automated system will confirm the outcome against you.
My advice is to contact eBay Germany while the dispute is open, so you're sure to win it because on eBay Germany there are many operators who can intervene on the matter, unlike eBay Italy where the most you can hope for is to speak with the Albanian call center that tells you to stay calm because you'll definitely win the dispute but that in fact they have almost no power to do anything 😎
