Good morning everyone, for over 10 days I haven’t sold anything anymore and I’m not receiving any offers or messages from users . Normally the shop was fairly active.
What could be the cause?

·1 year agoGood morning, I’m in the same situation too, actually I’ve noticed it for a few months now, and in my opinion there’s something wrong with eBay in general, I don’t think it’s just a bad period, and not even the prices I have because in that regard I’m very competitive. I think my listings aren’t being highlighted unless you sponsor them, and this leads to additional costs that would then affect my earnings and this thing doesn’t make sense for me. If it keeps going like this I think I’ll close the account and try to see on other platforms.

·1 year agoGood morning konstanzantonio
I saw that you sell LED spare parts for TVs.
If I type "BARRA led SAMSUNG " in the search (a generic search anyway) you already show up on the first page of results.
If we also add the TV model, you still appear among the first results.
You don’t sponsor them and it doesn’t seem to me that you need to.
If you notice a drop in sales, I think it may be due to a general decline in this type of component rather than problems with visibility in searches.
Best regards

·1 year agoThank you very much and thanks for the reply, all this reassures me a lot, I hope it can get back to the pace of a few months ago because believe me, the drop is more than a little worrying.

·1 year agosimply, buyers are not PROTECTED the way they want you to believe, lost about 300 euros for goods not delivered by the SDA courier, who blissfully declares DELIVERED, after sending a complaint to EBAY, through the official SDA POSTE ITALIANE form, with signature included I might add, under my full responsibility for what was stated, they reply that the courier says delivered AND THAT FOR THEM THE MATTER ENDS THERE, NICE STUFF, FEEDBACK all at 100%, 20 years as a buyer who pays immediately, I consider myself a very honest and reliable person, it’s a real shame but I WILL NO LONGER BUY PRODUCTS SOLD ON EBAY, and not because there aren’t honest sellers, I want to point that out

·1 year agoWhy, if the courier certifies delivery, what would other marketplaces have done??

·2 years agoI completely agree, here now you only have to pay to get a few more views, I'm more and more convinced to leave this obsolete platform!

·2 years agoIf the competition has set a very high target, I'd be asking myself what you’ve done so far.
Are you the kind of entrepreneurs who created their product and then forgot about it? Neglecting to optimize it, believing there will always be market demand for your product in its original form.
My dear friends, entrepreneurship doesn't work like that, neither online nor offline. It doesn't happen that you invest once and earn for life from that investment (at least when it comes to product sales). You must constantly invest part of your earnings both in product development and market expansion.

·2 years agoDoes the agency you work with know that you are spamming on a public forum? In that case I recommend a closer look at the following search terms: spamming and netiquette.
Kind regards.

·2 years agoThere are two possibilities: either it’s free advertising, or it’s someone trying to give that agency a bad reputation.
Then it says "service marketing"... so what does that have to do with selling products on eBay?
Ebay doesn’t sell services...
heavenwelkin
·2 years agoThe first part of the post talks about ongoing investments.... Yes, in marketing agencies, agencies that manage your sales, agencies that manage your accounting, agencies that manage your auctions....
With the small margins there are these days, the best investment in my opinion is in yourself, meaning learning to manage most things independently, and if you really have to delegate, you should do it under your own control / management.
Kind regards

·3 years agoThe answer is that, in order to get visibility now, you have to pay for a new service, so understandably nobody pays for it, since there are already commissions and other payment services... so sellers can’t get their listings seen, potential buyers don’t see them.... and Ebay doesn’t understand that by doing this... they get zero revenue too! Their problem....
morgana10
·3 years agoUnfortunately, from what this Forum is held together by, even paying for promotions doesn’t get you visibility. Evidently eBay uses other parameters. Who knows which ones...
actar80
·3 years agoWho knows ..... 🤔🤔🤔 ..... go figure!
langolodialadino
·3 years agoThe parameter is plain for all to see; to rip people off as much as possible! But times have changed, so people turn elsewhere, and Ebay can come up with all the tricks it wants to cash in on advertisers, but anyway ….PEOPLE NO LONGER WANT TO GIVE ALL THIS MONEY TO EBAY… and it’s like a dog chasing its own tail ….EVEN EBAY DOESN’T CASH IN IF FOR MONTHS AND MONTHS ADVERTISERS DON’T SELL AND DON’T SHELL OUT ANY MONEY FOR THEIR VISIBILITY, PAID LISTINGS…
langolodialadino
·3 years agoWell said, my friend, you hit the nail on the head!! The world has changed, but eBay has fallen behind… so far behind that it still doesn’t understand that if their sellers don’t sell, they don’t make any money either, and if they add these little paid tricks too (the latest one being automatic payment for listing visibility, which if you don’t click NO NOW, and most of the time it’s cleverly blocked), they charge the seller’s credit… exactly, only idiots will sign up… so whoever causes their own misfortune…

·3 years agoI had tried to post a reply but the post didn't appear --
I was saying that visibility is almost zero or zero -- since sponsored listings penalize those who made eBay what it has become over the years -- precisely the users, the non-professional sellers or occasional sellers --- while the ones who made eBay known in the world are exactly these --- I'll give a historical recap -- in the years from around 2002 to 2012 most of those selling on eBay were non-professional and occasional sellers -- mainly in auctions, a very popular method, as well as the Buy It Now format --- these sellers then opened stores since in those years opening a store was fairly convenient -- since back then eBay also had insertion fees for every listing --- now let's say subscription fees --- then you can also talk about PayPal, who sponsored PayPal for many years was eBay itself --- in the years, if I remember correctly between 2005 and 2007, for the various non-professional and occasional sellers PayPal was introduced as the preferred payment method and eBay pushed hard for it to become the platform's premier payment method as happened in just a few years --- always with eBay's sponsorship -- PayPal made its way outside eBay, becoming in a few years the most used payment method on many websites - let's say for the security it offered in case of non-delivery etc. of a purchase -- this until 2019 or 2020 -- after that there was the separation between eBay and PayPal, perhaps it happened earlier --- since having become one of the most accepted payment methods on the web it no longer needed eBay's sponsorship -- as if PayPal wasn't walking but was now running on its own --- so eBay decided to do without this type of payment, which is used mostly by small sellers -- occasional sellers and non-professional sellers who, let's say, found PayPal good --- PayPal isn't perfect --- but -- by doing this, since a bank account or a card like Postepay Evolution is needed to receive payments -- which are not immediate as they were with PayPal and take a few days --- some of these sellers, since they used sales to make purchases -- that is, they used selling -- they sold an item they no longer wanted and with that sale bought something else --- so eBay had a drop in commissions and in what we could call sales by professional sellers -- fewer sales, fewer commission earnings --- I forgot to say that professional sellers on eBay started appearing after 2012 even though before that there were some, but sporadically --- over time they increased -- those who didn't have a website used eBay as a shop and website --- those who had a website but didn't have much visibility -- by opening a shop on eBay they began to have more visibility --- this success from the years 2012-2013 onward -- so over time eBay preferred the small non-professional and occasional sellers over the professional sellers -- if you look at it, once auctions were the majority but now they make up a tiny fraction and even items put up for auction have almost zero visibility sorry for the length - in that post that perhaps wasn't accepted there was also a part dedicated to Winted it will be for later regards

·3 years ago2012 was when Amazon began its rise.
Even though in 2012 we were still in this situation
From there on, Amazon completely "revolutionized" the market and ebay tried to run for cover by making the choices it made.
In 2023 I would say the market is rather saturated and stagnant, I’m not surprised that sales are at a standstill or that buyers’ willingness to spend money is lower than in the past.
ebay is also a platform suited to "aware" private sellers who do their research and want to do things properly and seriously.
A private seller on ebay has to respect shipping and packaging times, has to respect the shipping service, has to respect delivery times, has to run auctions with descriptions in a certain way, has to package items well, and has to know how the platform works, which is certainly not something within everyone’s reach.
One of the differences between selling on subito with tutto e subito is that there everything is simpler, but as far as post-sale risks are concerned, if you use PayPal or a credit card, they are the same as on ebay regarding items that do not conform to the description or are alleged to be such.
Kind regards.

·3 years agomaybe it migrates to winted VINTED also there there is sponsorship --- called buster -- but then who GAVE 140 MILLION EUROS IN 2019 HAS THIS VINTED -- maybe the not-so-clean organizations operating in those parts --- in northeastern eastern Europe --- the Baltic countries and Ukraine -- chased away from the bad RUSSIA MAYBE -- by not-so-clean organizations I mean but I think you understand -- and maybe vinted thanks to the blocking and holding of the various payments sent by users when buying --- given that these payment transactions remain tied up and blocked by the site for a few days -- maybe useful for money laundering of not very clear origin --- I am not, say, a defender of ebay but one must understand that both the competition that in a few months has taken on a very high target

·3 years agoHaha look…. for me Ebay is right to keep asking for more and more fees, both from professionals and from private sellers, now it even charges for visibility… we’re back to the days of Wanna Marchi here… the fault wasn’t hers or Ebay’s… but of the suckers who pay and let themselves get fleeced… so yes, Ebay is right to keep asking for more and more… For me it should set them at 50 euros each per listing for visibility (and we’re well on the way to getting there now) so at least people will finally wake up and realize that there are other e-commerce sites now too and that, paid or not on ebay, fewer and fewer (smart) people buy and sell exactly because of this new crap Ebay throws at those suckers every now and then… we’ll still see some amazing things 😂

·3 years agoYour listings are well indexed, I did two random tests. With "gatto di porcellana" your listing appears first, with "impianto per osmosi" it appears in eleventh place (right after the sponsored listings from professional sellers) but still on the first page.
So, in your case, it’s not a visibility problem. Maybe the heavy use of local pickup is narrowing the pool of potential buyers.

·3 years agoAs for promoted listings, I was reading complaints from other users too; some even complained about sales collapsing despite having sponsored the listings. I think that after years of growth in online sales, we’re going through a period of economic crisis even in online shopping. To get a little more visibility, include the shipping cost in the item’s price, since fees are now charged on the total anyway; that way you can choose free shipping and maybe gain some visibility.
Also, as Mario suggested, try to limit local pickup, since it’s like directing the sale to very few potential buyers.

·3 years agoWhile I was reading yesterday the book: 'How to Sell Your Soul to Acquire Sensual Pleasures' by a certain Thomas Ray, I suddenly remembered what a guy I used to exchange opinions with years ago in the platform lounge told me. He claimed that to make so much money that you could steal it, you have to already have it to begin with. And to sell and do business, you must not care at all about selling and doing business. All strategies only fatten the pockets of those who offer solutions. I have always considered this statement nonsense. But now, less so. Of course, it is not enough to have the house full of junk or objects you no longer use. Even eBay's advertising is misleading. It is not really clear what target audience it is aimed at to encourage them.
morgana10
·3 years agoI agree with that guy. If you’re cruising along "on velvet," it’s a whole different story 😉
