As per the title, are refunded items and cancelled sales also counted in the total transaction count?

·2 years agoI don't think so.
It's referring to the total proceeds over a calendar year, so refunds should be deducted.
eBay will share your data with the tax authorities when, in a calendar year, you have reached EUR 2,000 in sales proceeds or completed 30 transactions.

·2 years agoI think the question was about the number of sales, not the amount. DAC7 requires reporting to the tax authority when you exceed 29 sales per year; in this sense it's not clear whether refunded ones are included too... same for canceled ones

·2 years agoIf refunds are deducted from the total, the transaction should also be deducted from the number of transactions. I advised asking customer service, but I don't see why the two should be handled differently.

·2 years agoreading the directive, in my opinion it is clear that they mean transactions completed successfully (so those with full refunds and those canceled are not included);
however, the problem may still arise if the transaction is refunded in the following year (for example sold in December 2024, refunded in 2025), if then you consider that refunds can be made through the payment method, the timing could even be just beyond the year (see chargeback ..... )

Where did you find these details?
No one knows how eBay interfaces with the tax agency to communicate data.
We don't know whether they have already made some kind of dedicated platform, maybe community-based...
We don't know whether the communication happens as soon as a payment is made, or whether it happens after the item has been shipped, or whether it happens when the item is delivered, or after the 30 days of buyer protection have passed.
Moreover, we don't know whether communications already sent can be updated or revoked.
In short, we know nothing about how eBay interfaces with the tax agency; we can only make assumptions.

·7 months agoGood morning, are there any definite updates on this? I mean, for DAC7 do all sales count (including cancelled and refunded ones) or only the ones that went through successfully?

·7 months agoI think it will be exactly the same as last year.
That is, the system had been implemented in a fairly simple / basic way without taking into account all the variables like cancellations, full or partial refunds due to disputes, missed payments....
But we'll find out soon.
