What if I have to be absent?

If for any reason I have to be away from my usual location AND I have one or more sales listings running, what should I do?

For a trip, a hospital stay, a school outing, a vacation, I might find myself unable to ship an item I sell within the usual time frame, which would look bad or even make it possible to start a dispute.

Is there a way to signal my absence to eBay and to the visitors of my listings?

If there is a setting that will flag the seller's absence in every listing until the ... However, I don't remember whether the setting is among the account settings or whether it is entered when creating or editing the listing.
