Tax transparency email
Summary: The discussion titled "Email trasparenza fiscale" involves several participants commenting, but the content of their messages is not provided.
I received this email, which basically says that I have reached the infamous limit of 30 annual sales. Now, since I’m a private seller and I make occasional sales of items I own, almost all used, could I face any penalties? I know it’s the site’s new practice to send this documentation to the German tax authorities, who will then forward it to the Italian ones, but I thought it was eBay that required switching an account from private to professional. I don’t even have a VAT number.

·1 year agoIt obviously concerns 2024: you need the report for your tax returns (that is, to fill in the appropriate line on the 730 form).

·1 year agoOne thing I still haven’t understood, though: the Dac7 that supposedly arrived for many private sellers who exceeded the threshold of 30 annual sales and/or exceeded 2000 euros in sales, does it refer to last year, כלומר 2024, or the previous year, that is 2023?

·1 year agoIt only concerns the year 2024. Obviously this does not necessarily exclude an extension of the review to previous years as well.

·1 year agoIt’s not eBay that has to tell you to get your tax affairs in order.
You should have opened a VAT number before playing at being a trader. For the buying and selling of used items, there’s the margin scheme. Talk to your accountant about it.

·1 year agoExcept in particularly serious cases where there is also a criminal offense, you only risk an administrative penalty for unpaid taxes (personal income tax and VAT)
