Good morning
I searched through the various discussions for an answer to this problem, but I didn't find anything concrete
From July 1st, the obligation to issue e-invoices will also apply to FLAT-RATE TAXPAYERS (that's my case)
To issue an electronic invoice to an ITALIAN PRIVATE INDIVIDUAL, it is mandatory to enter the "TAX CODE". With the paper version, you could "tolerate" as an alternative the EBAY order reference
Unfortunately the tax code is not present in the shipping details, so for every single sale it is necessary to contact the buyer and request it.
If everyone communicated it, let's say it wouldn't be a big problem, setting aside the time needed for this operation. Unfortunately, though, 70% of people do not reply or declare that they do not want to share it because it is a "sensitive datum"
Ebay says it cannot force/do anything, but from my side, if an ITALIAN buyer does not give me their tax code, I cannot issue an electronic invoice and I am therefore forced to cancel the sale on Ebay: there is no alternative, otherwise it would be tax evasion without issuing an invoice
Ebay suggested that I sign up for the "Ebay developers program" in order to add an API to the platform that would allow the tax code to be retrieved. I signed up but I can't make heads or tails of this platform
So I am reaching out to all FLAT-RATE TAXPAYERS in my same situation (and there won't be few). How do you handle this problem?
Thanks everyone..

·8 months agoupdate, giving out the tax code by itself is not very useful to cybercriminals
but if it's linked to a mobile number ( which is almost mandatory to make it easier for the courier to contact you ) it becomes very dangerous because of the risk of scams
so you should NEVER give out your tax code on Ebay or in combination with your mobile number

·8 months agoit's normal that they don't want to give out their tax code
I've always bought far and wide from all over the world without any problems
then one day someone asks you for your tax code in private, what do you think ?? ( with all the scams going around )
now they say the tax code is not sensitive data, bah, it depends on your point of view
I'm contacting Ebay for clarification, if I have to provide the code, whether I can refuse or whether I'm obliged to in order to get the product, etc.
hoping to get some clarification because lately Ebay has been treating me anything but well

·2 years agoI issue an invoice directly for the bank transfer I receive from eBay, for years…

·2 years agoMade out to whom?
Which SDI code do you send the invoice to?
And in the case of a bank transfer for multiple sales?
It doesn't seem like a valid solution to me...

·2 years agogood evening, I’m finding myself facing this problem too, I’m under the flat-rate regime and I’m being told that electronic invoices have to be created even for private individuals, but the tax code is needed. Also, I’m living a paradox, since we also sell on Etsy and we regularly end up selling in the USA, but the buyers’ data does not include either the tax code or PEC address, the site tells me that we have to ask buyers for this information through a message from the site, but nobody replies, oh my, has anyone solved this?? thanks

·2 years agoThe technical answers have already been given to you by those who are more knowledgeable and experienced than me on the subject.
If I may offer just one suggestion: since probably all private buyers who purchase are not fully familiar with the matter, you could add a nice line in uppercase letters in the text of your listings saying that "In case of purchase, if an invoice is desired, it must be requested immediately via message to the seller, providing the tax code - otherwise the seller will be technically unable to fulfill such a request".
It's more of a workaround, but in the meantime it could reduce the number of problematic situations to deal with.
Have a good day and congratulations on the variety of items you sell: legendary Commodore!!!

·3 years agohi I wanted to know how you solved it thanks

·4 years agoIn addition to everything already mentioned, I’d add that if you also have a physical store, things may change because of the combination of sales, but I think your accountant will know how to help you.
Meanwhile, if it may be useful to you... here:
Selling preferences (ebay.it)
under the "Buyers" item you can enable the option "Buyers must enter their tax identification number in the checkout form" ... which would be the codice fiscale...
Kind regards.

·2 years agoGood morning everyone. I have the same problem, I think the solution proposed here could be the right way to go.
Alternatively, in your opinion, wouldn’t it be simpler to send the electronic invoice for the eBay bank transfer instead of the individual sale?
sika700
·2 years agoUhm... and who would you make the electronic invoice out to?
In the case of multiple sales per day, eBay sends a single transfer net of fees, how would you record it?
Based on your tax regime, are you required to issue an invoice for every sale?
Kind regards.
