How long can you keep selling on eBay?
I’d like advice from other sellers like me,
I have a basic store on eBay, and I sell dropshipped products from suppliers with a regular VAT number. This is because I don’t have the ability to source from suppliers in bulk and have my own warehouse. I thought about selling on eBay thinking: the buyer purchases, eBay sends me the Soddì, I buy from the supplier and ship to the buyer. Okay, in the month of December I had a high number of sales, over 200 orders, but something goes wrong, eBay blocks my incoming funds twice in that same month of December, I find myself with over 8,000 euros in deliveries, (of which eBay earns 2480 euros and I 656 euros) that I cannot advance, with customers bombarding me with messages to जवाब to, sending over 200 messages to customers to warn them that their order is arriving late, from which I receive further messages to answer, insults from customers, who understandably feel taken for a ride, negative feedback by the bucketload, simply because the customer was unhappy, I spend whole days working on the eBay site to solve the problem and in the end see my earnings from all the work. In the meantime I wait for eBay to unblock my funds and I call support to explain the situation, I explain everything and they tell me I must first ship and prove that the orders have been delivered and then we will unblock the money, but I don’t have 80000 euros to advance. In conclusion, I find myself having to refund over 200 customers, which is a huge amount of work, while being bombarded with messages from customers who want explanations, so since December 1st I’ve been working on the eBay site like crazy, and in the end I find myself with no earnings at all. But I worked.... Is all this fair? Is it worth tearing yourself apart to create a store on eBay, or do you end up spending days working but in the end see no earnings? Has anyone had a similar case? How did you solve it?

·2 years ago.... Moreover, short selling is expressly forbidden on eBay. You can do dropshipping, but only with a solid supply contract.

·2 years agoHello,
there's nothing to advise... you’ve already ruined it yourself.
Starting a business without a decent investment is doomed from the outset, even if you sell via dropshipping.
Stating that you ship within a day... in dropshipping... is doomed.
If eBay blocked your funds, it was definitely because you had poor performance, such as late shipments.
You should have taken all the time you needed to read eBay’s rules and think about the type of business you intended to run; you would have learned that as a new seller you wouldn’t have had the funds available for at least 15 days!
That said, you can on your own learn from your mistakes and work to improve the business, for example by staying within certain sales standards that eBay imposes.
Similar problems aren’t solved... if you don’t have money to invest, time to dedicate to improving your performance and improving your sales.
Kind regards.
