Hello everyone. I bought an item from an Italian Ebay user, for his convenience he requested payment by bank transfer, that's not a problem, I have made dozens of payments by bank transfer also because you can print the receipt.
I asked him to provide me with the shipping information, he gave me the shipping code but not the courier handling the transport, so I can't track the package. He did not tell Ebay that he had received the payment and did not provide any information about the package tracking.
After 15 days I still have not received the package. It's impossible to contact Ebay, I keep getting a response that an error has occurred.
Do I need to file a complaint with the postal police?

I saw some of your auction listings for items for sale where in the description you write:
I quote: PAYMENT: Paypal, bank transfer, Postepay.
I quote: Trade with a vintage automatic wristwatch of equal value.
I quote: Sale or trade agreement between private individuals. VIEWED AND LIKED. NO RETURNS..
Let's say that eBay's rules do not allow you to get assistance if any agreement between the parties outside of eBay is not respected.
Of course, through messaging it is still possible to make whatever arrangements you want, but you do it at your own risk because, in addition to violating eBay's rules, you then receive no after-sales assistance.
Try to reach an agreement with the seller with whom you started a dialogue before concluding the transaction and certainly if you realize that he is scamming you you must proceed with a report.

·3 years agoSorry about what happened, but bank transfer is no longer allowed on eBay since 2021 after the switch to the new payment system.
You were wrong to accept this form of payment, so now eBay will not provide you with assistance.
If I remember correctly, there are websites for tracking shipments that also identify the carrier. One is 17track.net, look for others with Google for a safer comparison.
First make sure the package has been shipped and that it isn’t delayed, even though I don’t understand how the seller got your shipping details, did you send them to him via message?

OP3 years agoHi. In fact, I made a mistake. After so many years and so many operations that went well, I also got caught by a scammer; he doesn't ship. A report has been filed with the competent authorities, in order to prevent him from trying to scam someone else again. Thanks

I personally in these cases avoid buying if the seller wants to be paid exclusively by bank transfer (we're in 2023) and won't accept at least escrow as a GUARANTEE of the sale.

·3 years agoI'm sorry about what happened, but consider that you were actually lucky if over the years you often paid by bank transfer because this payment method didn't give you any protection from eBay even before, while only paying with Paypal used to offer protection.
