Listing with variants. Problems with quantities

I posted a listing with variants for the first time. Comic books with different issue numbers.. the setup was fine, but when orders started coming in it’s a mess.. many issue numbers are marked as sold out even though no one has bought them.. when they buy them I get different notifications depending on the issue number.. all with the same initial photo and the issue number details don’t show up.. then it marks them as "sold awaiting payment".. and I have to invite them to request a combined invoice so they can pay with combined shipping.. all this, of course, from a PC.
How can I manage these listings, sales, and related contact with buyers better?
Maybe I need to "enable" the request immediate payment option???
thanks a lot in advance

·1 year agoas you wrote in one of your previous posts, you’re just starting out on Ebay...... having said that, there are people who have been selling on Ebay for years and, in my opinion, still haven’t really grasped how the platform works (just read some of the questions they ask here on the community to get an idea......), getting tangled up in listings with variants is, I’d say, a bit of suicide (as, in practice, the other users who replied also said......)
also, in my opinion, making a listing with variants is clearly something for a "professional" seller (for example, if you sell several T-shirts of the same model, the "variants" can be the color and size.....) and not for a "private" seller (who hardly ever has multiple identical items, unless they’re a "real" private seller..... )

OP1 year agoThank you very much! I'll give up on this option that I tried.. to be honest, I experimented with it, because having so many magazine/book/comic numbers I panicked at the thought of having to publish everything individually. Thanks to all of you for these precious tips.

·1 year agoIf for any reason you're having problems with sales with variants, rather than insisting on this route I suggest you post the auctions individually.
As for the numbers marked "sold out" but never purchased, it could be a bug / platform issue rather than a mistake on your part........

·1 year agoRosaria, it’s now well established that selling on the platform isn’t easy. Every step requires
in-depth work that you often don’t feel like taking on. Selling with variants lets you group items with small differences into a single listing, avoiding separate listings for each individual item. An acquaintance of mine also used this system, with the result of a lot of confusion among potential buyers. I’ve never done anything like that because I’ve seen that enthusiasts like to read the characteristics of each individual comic book (in my case, old Disney comics from back in the day) that are not the same. Each issue has its own story, its own artist, its own cover, etc.) My advice is not technical. It’s aimed at getting good sales results. Forget about variants. The more you try to mass-produce things, to make them faster, the more problems of every kind arise. Best regards from von

·1 year agoGood morning,
if you can't manage them, maybe it's time to create individual listings...
Kind regards.
