Good morning, last night I received over 500 emails for as many hidden listings, due to suspected violations of the European GPSR regulations, even though I had entered all the required information to be compliant, including all those listings for products put up for sale before December 13, 2024, to which this regulation, theoretically, does not apply.
Has anyone else had the same problem?

·1 year agoI can confirm that for me *FOR THE MOMENT* everything has been fixed. The confirmation emails keep arriving in Gmail hours late and I imagine they'll keep doing so until tomorrow morning 😅
I just hope I don't wake up tomorrow to any surprises because then I'd be all set too 😅

OP1 year agoFor me, I still have 107 inactive listings on one shop and 81 on the other, obviously some in the first account are considered compliant while in the second account they get rejected and vice versa, with the same information. Just to underline how ridiculous the situation is. The last thing left for me to try is to close the inactive listings and reopen them from scratch with the same content, just to understand what happens.

OP1 year agoI believe that writing has always been there, since if the manufacturer is within the EU bureaucratic monster, there’s no need to include the importer. The fact is that I spent the whole day trying to restore the listings with poor results; they’re being rejected randomly and without basis. This is the future that awaits us: let’s put decisions in the hands of software.

·1 year agoI managed to create two new listings, the issue seems to have been resolved (hopefully) and the flood of hidden listings also seems to be over; all we can do now is wait for confirmation from other sellers.

·1 year agoIt *SEEMS* to me that the problem has been solved, out of 13,000 listings that had been annoying me, 9,000 are visible again at the moment and the fix is continuing, so by tonight they *SHOULD* be sorted out. They haven't been obscured again after the last change I made, so let's *HOPE* they'll be okay. All that's left for me to do is delete, in batches of 25, the roughly 39,000 Ebay messages that clogged up my inbox

OP1 year agoI've been trying since I opened this thread, and so far I've managed to restore half of those that were hidden. Articles from the same brands and even from the same line as others that have been approved are systematically being rejected. The most shocking thing is that there hasn't been any notice or any guidelines to follow from Ebay (even a generic one, in an email to everyone) about the ongoing issues, just so we can understand whether they're working on it or not, or whether we have to sort it out ourselves.

·1 year agoIt seems they’ve fixed it, try not to edit the listings anymore and note down the number of the ones that have been hidden (Listings - In progress, the red banner shows you the total number of problematic listings), after about an hour check whether the number of hidden listings is stable, has gone down or has decreased, and from there decide how to move forward; if it’s stable, try editing them again, if it’s gone down, let the system do its thing and republish them, if it’s increased, another call to support is definitely in order.

·1 year agoUp to this moment, halfway through the morning of 1/30 and therefore after more than 24 hours, no other anomalies are occurring.
A question for @retrocontainer: were the “affected” sale listings automatically fixed/restored by eBay’s system, or was some kind of manual intervention needed, even if just using the bulk edit tool?
One doubt that’s come up for me in the meantime, and for which unfortunately memory doesn’t help since I acted in a rush, is whether only listings in the modeling-collecting-similar categories were hit (which make up most of my listings) or also other types: I got the impression that the mess had affected exclusively sale listings of that kind...

OP1 year agoI'm also still stuck with more than 100 blocked listings, all action figures, even though they all have the necessary information. Phone support told me that they're still working on the problem and suggested I submit a complaint for each disabled listing, but after 5 complaints the system blocked me and I can't send any new ones. At this point I think I'll close all the inactive listings and reopen them as new listings.

·1 year agoI’ll share my testimony.
I confirm the experiences and observations of those who came before me: actions hiding sale listings due to violation of the "Rules on mandatory information relating to product safety" started overnight, intermittently (just two), accompanied by a message and even though I had already made all the listings on ebay.it compliant well before 13/12/2024; these actions then continued more massively in the morning (dozens), sometimes also with the message wording incomplete, i.e. "truncated" and therefore "broken" (already for the second one overall), moreover the instructions provided are insufficient since they do not specify which part of the information would be incomplete (I repeat: already complied with on my side months ago).
With very quick and diligent review activity I noticed already at the second correction that in the "Warnings for the item" section of the "incriminated" listings the options for the "Rules on used-item pickup" were "switched off", options that moreover were "closed" (hidden) by default and therefore had to be brought up with the command "Show more / Show less" PLACED AT THE BOTTOM, just as I noticed that it was enough to revise the listing by "turning on" this option and setting a choice for it (I had in fact already prepared my own "used-item pickup" notice) so that the listing would then be recognized as valid by eBay, but the joke kept unfolding in multiple forms:
1) there is no command relating to this option in the "bulk edit" panel for listings (that is, you have to do it manually one by one)
2) if you go back to edit the listing after correcting it, that option is found "switched off" again and therefore "undetermined" (with no choice made)
3) it can happen that the listing edit page goes "crazy" causing the "Warnings for the item" section to disappear during editing; this happened to me with the second listing, which was the one accompanied by the "truncated" message, and I infer that these situations are connected
4) the listing flagged by the "truncated" message and with the "unstable" edit interface was "branded" (hidden) a second time after the correction.
Meanwhile, the "raid" seems to have come to a halt and the corrections seem to have been accepted as valid (despite the inconsistencies described, and with the above-mentioned exception).
I believe the general conclusion to be drawn is that the whole phenomenon depends solely on the eBay system and stems from programming errors; moreover, I get the impression that it affects only some users (at random?) and not everyone: I invite everyone to report this complaint to eBay support, you can also copy the description I wrote here, I repeat that I am convinced it is the eBay IT/telecom platform that is "glitching" and therefore they need to make corrections on their side.

On the first one, all the details are missing and it’s still active; on the second, I think you put in too many details. You declared yourself the manufacturer and responsible party even though the product has CE marking, and that should have been enough for items produced before 13-12-2024

·1 year agoThe rule theoretically applies to all listings from December 13, so (theoretically) to be active they should have been updated.
In any case, they waited for the ones published earlier to expire, but from January 12 they all have to comply.

the problem is that they’re all compliant (checked also with the phone operator), and they get hidden for no reason; then all it takes is a simple relisting to get them published again (mine, unlike retrocontainer’s, were accepted and never closed again, at least up to now [knock on wood 🤣]); the problem with the new ones, though, can’t be solved, it’s been there since yesterday evening around 21:00, after the shop closed, when it showed up; I was making new listings as usual after closing and it was not possible in any way.

·1 year agoYour listings seem absolutely correct to me; in your case it was simpler since you only deal in new items.
The biggest difficulties will be for sellers of used items, especially for the period 1926-1991. After 1991, the presence of the CE mark would be enough.

your statement is so true, but even though they were new items and compliant listings, they were still hidden by the system, and there’s no chance of creating new ones; last night some update or change must have caused all this mess, hoping they fix it quickly there’s nothing else we can do.

OP1 year agoI tried to modify the affected listings, and it's as you said earlier, they get approved first but a few minutes later they get hidden again... All we can do now is wait for the "human" intervention from Ebay, you'll see that for the inconvenience we'll all get a discount on monthly subscriptions and selling fees 🤥🤥🤥

OP1 year agoThe problem is that they were already all updated, also because, although listings renew monthly, the listing start date is what counts. Here we’re talking about listings that were hidden even though they already had all the correct information, precisely because every seller didn’t want to end up in this situation.
What pisses me off most about this story is this excerpt from the notification email:
<< "This decision was made with the help of automation or artificial intelligence. This content was brought to our attention through automated detection. If you believe a mistake was made, we’re here to help. You can submit a complaint against this decision through our internal complaints handling procedure within the next 6 months, and we will review the matter again. >>
You can’t lose sales opportunities because of software that, among other things, did its job badly, since we’re talking about listings that were already made compliant.
I took a look at the Action figures category, and basically, besides mine, the listings of tons of other sellers are missing...

·1 year agoeBay's artificial intelligence does tons of damage in every field it has been tested in. By now it's known mainly for its lack of intelligence.
Honestly, to me your listings that are active today seem perfectly in order.

·1 year agoSame problem, I partially fixed it by editing and then putting back the same data that was there and they were republished; the problem, however, persists with the new listings to create, there’s no way to get them published, I called support and tried to make a new one over the phone with the operator’s advice, but even with that there was no way to solve it. In the end we were left with a suitably diplomatic try again later in the afternoon/evening and see if it works, and in the meantime I’ll report the problem....all we can do is wait 😄

OP1 year agoYes, in fact support also told me to wait since it’s a problem affecting many people. I’m just wondering how it’s possible that an automatic control system has the power to shut down the sales of multiple sellers where the problem apparently doesn’t even exist...
Besides, I can’t even get into the resolution center because “an error occurred,” absurd.

·1 year agoTry modifying them via the "Listings" path on the seller console, then "In progress" so it shows you the list of all your listings and the flagged ones have the red symbol, and from there you hit "Edit", check whether the GPRS data is there and then click "Put up for sale" and it should republish it for you without any problems, then after about 30/40 minutes you get the email saying your listing meets the GPRS requirements (with the same data it had when they hid it from you 😆 ); I solved it with all my listings this way, as said before the problem only remains for the new ones to publish, there’s no way... we wait and hope
