Shipping After the Sale - the Need for Integrated Shipping
I’d say yes, I’m starting to feel the need for an integrated shipping option à la Vinted.
To be clear, the freedom eBay offers when it comes to shipping is always welcome, but these days the cost of tracked shipping has become unsustainable for items in the €10-20 range.
The bare minimum is Poste 1 at €5. Untracked shipping, let’s forget about it — it’s already happened to me that someone claimed not to have received the item, with little or no communication (as the saying goes, if you think badly you’re doing wrong, said Giulio the Great).
At this point, are we still far from a “minimum” tracked shipping option under eBay’s wing? Could a service like that ever exist?

·3 years agoIt would be good not to promote Packlink, there are more than 800 people around the world here who have had a terrible experience:

·3 years agoIt's an INTEGRATED service within ebay.
Once the payment has been received, the notification / bell PAID AND TO SHIP appears; if you CLICK and place the order, you stay on the ebay page and do not go to packlink's page.
In my opinion Marioelegio is not promoting a shipping service different from ebay but is referring to ebay on the ebay forum.
Best regards.

·3 years agoYes, I should have expressed myself more clearly...
...I simply meant that it would be better not to recommend using Ebay's shipping manager, which relies on Packlink...

·3 years agoI forgot...
...when I reported all the problems I had with Packlink to Ebay support, they told me they have no responsibility for the use of the shipping manager offered with Packlink, and that I could easily choose another shipping service.
If we use Packlink from the shipping manager, the responsibility for the choice will be ours alone, Ebay has no responsibility for the shipping manager that it itself offers.
I’d say it’s better to advise against using the shipping manager on Ebay’s forum.
Usually on forums people try to give advice, I can’t accept people talking about the shipping manager without knowing the risks.

·3 years agoGood evening ninonakano
There are no brokers free of flaws; just go on Trustpilot to see the many brokers with awful reviews.
I’m sorry for what happened to you with packlink, but I’ve been using the integrated ebay+packlink shipping service since the beginning (about 3 years) with GREAT SATISFACTION for international shipments with UPS or DHL, thanks to which, due to the free integrated 75-euro insurance, I managed to get 2 refunds for items that arrived damaged.
I’ve also made several shipments with the postedelivery web service with delivery to the post office and then with the SDA home pickup service and I’ve never had a missed pickup or an unjustified charge.
As I wrote earlier, the ebay shipping service is an INTEGRATED BUT NOT MANDATORY service of the platform.
When you sell something, you receive this email:
In my opinion (though I could be wrong), ebay shipping is a service integrated into the platform and offered by ebay with regulated rates.
So integrated into the platform that there have been several discussions from sellers asking whether it was possible to ship directly to the post office.
Let’s remember that if problems arise, they can still be resolved; maybe ebay has already stepped in to fix the situation.
If you noticed, apart from those two or three complaint posts from the past few months, there haven’t been any recent posts complaining about this problem again, so the issue has probably already been fixed.
Kind regards.

·3 years agoIt's nice to see that not everyone has negative experiences with Packlink, but I still don't trust the shipping provider! 😅
Have a good evening

·3 years agoThat link is part of ebay.co.uk... in Italy things may be different... just make sure the shipment is done properly, communicate the measurements and weights correctly, and you'll see that Packlink won't ask you for any extra money...
There was a similar conversation on the Italian forum... but if I remember correctly, very few users took part...
Best regards.

·3 years ago...what do you want me to say, I did all the shipments properly, and I still received 4 invoices for non-compliant weight.
They had systematically increased almost all the shipments by exactly 7.1 kg; in the end I disputed the charges and, after a huge waste of time and a lot of hassle, I managed to prove I was right.
If I had even the slightest suspicion that I had messed up the measurements, I would have paid right away!
All it took was sending the photo of the collectible cards and old Pokemon toys I had sold, which didn’t even reach a kilo, let alone 7 kilos, crazy stuff!
No offense, but anyone who has never used Packlink can’t say that just shipping properly is enough to avoid these problems.
Packlink is a shady broker, there are thousands of complaints online about unfair invoices.
Do you think it’s normal that Packlink got 4 invoices wrong out of 4?
If nobody highlights the problem, Ebay will keep relying on Packlink for the shipping manager!

·3 years agoNo offense... also because you can't know whether I have used it or whether I do use it...

·3 years agoHonestly, I might know it just because once you wrote on one of my forums that you had used GLS...
Also, I don't think professional sellers would waste time with Packlink; for large sales volumes, it's better to get a subscription with a courier 😂
Have a nice evening

·3 years agoI think I have quite an extensive sales background... I think we all started out using shipping brokers... and if I wrote that I had used GLS, in other conversations I must also have written that I had used Poste Italiane, Nexive, Bartolini, TNT, Crono... etc... etc...
We didn't all start with a subscription!
Kind regards.

·3 years agoEbay does not handle shipping... which is and remains completely the responsibility of whoever does it, namely the seller.
Also, the "integrated à-la Vinted" shipping leave it to Vinted... let the buyer decide how I have to ship, yeah right!!!
I would rather worry about regularizing your account... your haberdashery is missing the VAT number!
Kind regards.

OP3 years agoAnd not even a warehouse, for that matter, nor has there been any acquisition of new merchandise since I created the listings in '21.

·3 years agoActually, Sika would be right. If you have closed a business and invoiced the remaining stock to yourself, you can’t sell it now. It would be considered the start of a new business.
Then it is equally true that, if it is not a large quantity, it is tolerated as a sale of used personal goods.

·3 years agoFrom my point of view, more than 200 new items with labels cannot be tolerated as a sale of used personal goods...
graf_schmidt started a forum to discuss shipping on Ebay a bit, but I think it’s fair to let him know that lately they’ve been talking about 30 sales a year for no more than 2000 euros for private individuals on online sales platforms.
Reporting the issue is in his interest, there are too many listings; this is a well-organized sales activity, not an occasional one.
graf_schmidt
OP3 years agoThen the 30 sales a year maybe are done by professionals, here we're talking maybe about 1 a year. Then if we have to discuss something else different from what my original request was, I've already said what I had to say, for privacy reasons and I can спокойно close this here.
