·5 months agoAside from eBay rules, it is necessary to clearly state in the item description that it is a "non-professional private sale of personal property, sold as seen and liked" so as not to run into legal action, in which the defaulting buyer, if acting fraudulently, could be considered the injured party.
Even if not required, wait for the return package, reverse the shipping costs, cancel the order, refund and block the buyer. They will not be able to leave negative feedback and will not be able to claim anything other than your courtesy or ask for damages for money withheld.
The situation changes in the case of a commercial sale and then you're in for trouble.
In any case, if they beg you to resend it, do it only through eBay, do not agree to send it back by any other method, it always smells like a scam. Put it back up for sale and notify the buyer if they are not blocked.

·5 months agoAside from eBay rules, there are the rules on chargebacks and their derivatives (see PayPal).
If you write in the listing "private sale, seen and approved, exclusion of any warranty, no returns, etc." it can ONLY be valid if the buyer:
A) Doesn't know how eBay works and accepts what you wrote in the description.
B) Knows how eBay works but accepts what you wrote in the description.
If something doesn't go through smoothly during the sale, the buyer can EASILY ignore / bypass what you specified in the description.
Kind regards.

·1 year agoin short: if the failure to collect is attributable to the buyer, usually according to the rules a refund is not предусмотрed, in these cases it is advisable to contact the seller to agree on a refund of the item only, minus the shipping costs ( obviously including, if borne by the seller, any return shipping costs to the sender )

If a seller ships you the goods and you do not pick them up in time, they are sent back to the sender.
As for eBay, if you let the deadline to pick up an item expire, you cannot ask eBay for compensation.
The seller had to bear the cost of the shipping expenses.
If you want to try to salvage what can be salvaged, I suggest you contact the seller and apologize to them for not picking it up, giving an excuse that you had some kind of problem that prevented you from collecting the item.
Asking the seller if they are willing to refund you the cost of the item minus the shipping and packaging costs.
As for eBay and its rules, the seller is not required / obliged to refund you anything at all.
If you call eBay phone support, they will tell you the same thing, namely that unfortunately if you do not pick up the item you lose buyer protection.
