New graphic detail on deceptive ads
Hi everyone, for a few days now I’ve been receiving messages from potential buyers asking for shipping because they think my items are only available for local pickup.
By chance I noticed a new graphic detail on listings enabled for in-person pickup, where the words "Ritiro in zona" appear prominently in bright red, effectively obscuring the shipping information, which is lower down and in a smaller, dull gray font.
Has anyone had the same problem and found a way to fix it?
I’m curious to understand the reason that led Ebay to make this graphic change, which in my opinion is harmful for sellers (and for Ebay itself).

·3 years agoHello,
I’ve tried both on PC and in the app... but I don’t understand which red line you’re referring to... if you attach a screenshot, maybe we can get an idea.
Best regards.

·3 years agoIt's not a red line but a red text that highlights the "pick up in store", probably to promote pickup at Fermopoint (in fact it also appears to private users). If you're not interested in Fermopoint, just remove the relevant option.

·3 years agoOk... but the writer clearly says: "...new graphic detail on listings enabled for hand pickup, where the words "Pick up in area" appear prominently and in a bright red color, which in fact ends up obscuring the shipping information, which is lower down and in a smaller font and a dull gray color."
Honestly I can't see this wording (oops... I had written line...)... unless it's the red wording you mean... only the writer can confirm for us what it's about or not.
Kind regards.

·3 years agoI understood that the text highlighted in red leads the buyer to think, as a first option, that they have to pick it up in store.

OP3 years agoExactly, I only noticed this (apparently) small graphic change after receiving about ten messages in a few days from buyers convinced that it was only possible to buy in store. A more attentive user may also ignore this change and take it for granted that shipping is available, but at first glance it may seem the opposite to many. I’m attaching an image of one of my listings from the app and two that show the before and after of the listings viewed on a PC.
Anyway yes, one solution for a private seller could be to remove pickup at a Fermopoint, the situation changes for a pro who would end up losing a good chunk of buyers who use this service.
Thanks everyone anyway for the feedback, have a good evening.

·3 years agoThanks for the observation.
The Fermopoint registration is done automatically for us, so to remove all that stuff that appears on screen and only creates a lot of confusion (in my opinion) you need to go here:
https://www.ebay.it/ship/prf
You will see this screen
Next to the second line "pickup point" you will notice that you are subscribed; go to edit and unsubscribe.
This is the result. (note the clarity and neatness compared to the confusion there was before)
Kind regards.

·3 years agoIf eBay chose to highlight delivery (essentially to the Fermopoint), it must have its good reasons 😉

·3 years agoIt does nothing but try to imitate in a muddled way the other platform (A...on), which however has a different structure and its own logistics that can't be replicated here because of the very nature of the platform.

I see the words Pickup in store in red.
The NICE thing is that it also appears on my auctions made from a non-professional account.
My auctions are not enabled for hand pickup.
I don't know if this is the detail you are referring to.
Kind regards.
