BLOCKED OFFERS
This has never happened to me before and I'm asking you more experienced folks ; I wanted to make an offer on an item for sale, but when I entered the offer, the system replied: You cannot buy this item because of restrictions set by the seller. Contact the seller for more information. (3008)
I contacted the seller three times, I never received a reply, and when the auction expired, which was at 11 p.m. while at 10 p.m. the item showed as sold at the starting price, moreover lower than what I wanted to offer.
Could someone explain this to me...??
Thanks

·2 years agoI don't think it's a "personal" ban, in that case the message would appear:
The seller does not accept offers or proposals from you.
Probably the user ran into some generic restriction, the kind that can be set from here:
https://www.ebay.it/bmgt/buyerrequirements
Strange though, since he's been a user for a long time.

·2 years agoas indicated by Mario (and by the Ebay message): the seller has set "restrictions" and therefore you can't buy from him because you fall under the above-mentioned "restrictions"
PS: ..... it would be interesting to know whether you had previous "contacts" with the seller on Ebay, also to understand whether the restrictions are "targeted" or "generic" .......

OP2 years agoNo, I have never had any contact with this seller.
I get the impression that the system lets sellers steer the sale, rejecting offers without explaining why.
Anyway, I've banned this seller.

·2 years agook, so it can be inferred that he put the "generic" ones, anyway the thing is allowed by the rules to apply "restrictions" ...... for the specific reading, please refer to the rules themselves as indicated by other posters

·2 years agoElio, there are two basic explanations for the problem you’ve run into. The first is that you were blocked by the seller for some reason you’re not aware of. Nothing personal, but here are some possible reasons for the restriction: You often pay late when you buy. You often don’t leave feedback at the end of a transaction. Even though it’s not required, eBay always encourages it and reminds you with a memo. The seller may be aware of it. Your ratings are low (that’s not your case). But there’s also the restriction imposed by the platform: you’ve accumulated canceled orders for non-payment. You place bids on expensive items and they want to verify who you are. But you may also have changed how you go about placing orders. Usually you are warned, though. Between us, if a seller doesn’t answer a preliminary question, I leave them alone with their silence. In itself it’s already a warning sign. A bit like with cats. You pet them and they hiss at you for no apparent reason. But there is a reason. Best regards.

·2 years agoThe seller has blocked you, he doesn't want anything to do with you. He won't reply to your messages and doesn't let you make offers.
Only you and he know the reasons for this block.
