good morning, lately it’s been happening to me that I sell items that then regularly don’t get paid for, without any message or explanation (it would be enough to say they changed their mind or anything else)

what’s more, by people with quite a few positive feedbacks, so the excuse of being "not very familiar" doesn’t even hold up.. but why isn’t it possible to report this unfair behavior by at least giving negative feedback? this way non-compliance with the rules is encouraged and that’s not right..

It happens to me with people who make me an offer (writing their preferred amount) and then when I accept they don't pay anymore

Ebay should suspend this type of people for 1 month, so they stop wasting time

Actually, if a buyer makes too many offers in a certain period of time and/or unpaid offers, the algorithms limit them in some way.

On wallapol, vinted and other marketplaces, the sale isn't finalized unless payment is made first.

Compared to these marketplaces, Ebay offers MANY more sales features and options.

To no longer have to deal with non-paying bidders, you need to set your listings to buy now with the "require immediate payment" option.

The "request immediate payment" option can't be used if there's the possibility of making a purchase offer

I had someone make an offer, then after 1 hour he withdrew the offer and after about 1 hour he made an offer slightly lower than the first one, which I accepted. Result....after 3 days I wrote to him on WhatsApp asking for payment for the item purchased. He had the nerve to say that it wasn't him who made the offer and that he wasn't interested in buying the item

I also know that the right of reconsideration is an option the buyer can exercise, but it's exhausting to keep seeing people make offers and then not pay

If, together with Buy It Now with immediate payment, you ALSO ADD the purchase offer, then obviously the Buy It Now benefits no longer apply.

For non-paying bidders you can automate the process by going here:

In short, if you tick that box, what happens is that eBay automatically cancels the sale after the fourth day, marking the buyer as a non-paying bidder (with all the limitations that entails if they turn out to be a repeat offender).

Why they behave like this, only the users who do it can know.
Personally, it has happened to me a few times, only once with the auction (I usually use Buy It Now), he had made an offer and then probably forgot to remove it.
You can’t leave negative feedback but you can report payment not received and from what I know the user receives a "warning".

Sell almost everything at the base auction price, with a single bid.

You can then solve the problem by switching to Buy It Now with immediate payment, in this way the item stays for sale until someone makes the payment.

hello thanks I didn't know about this mode',but actually what bothers me most isn't the missed "earnings" but people's behavior but thanks

as indicated by the other users :

set it to buy it now with immediate payment ( obviously you need to have an idea of the price it can be sold for...... anyway you can then eventually change the price..... )

for those who make an offer, win the auction and then don’t pay...... open a report for unpaid item, report them to Ebay through the proper procedure and, just to leave nothing out, put them on the black list (.....maybe not only yours..... depends on the connections you have....)

I wouldn’t waste time trying to "understand" why some people bid, win, and then don’t pay....... wasted time.....

Many users buy through the app on their phone and don't really know much about or realize what they're doing.

This happened to me 5 days ago, they sent me a purchase offer that I accepted but I didn't receive the payment and the buyer never got in touch.

after the fourth day I canceled it (you have to wait at least 4 days) and put the item back up for sale.

Unfortunately these are situations that can happen, don't take it too hard.
