Payment if the buyer doesn’t pick up the package?
Good evening everyone.
I wanted to ask: if a buyer doesn't pick up the package even after the second delivery attempt (moreover, I even see "incorrect/incomplete address" in the tracking information), even though I read that theoretically the item comes back to me, what happens to the payment? Does it stay blocked indefinitely, or is it still released since it's not my fault if the buyer can't be reached or doesn't get back to me?

If the parcel shows the exact and complete address as visible on eBay, the fault for the failed pickup lies with the buyer, but in the event of a dispute opened by the buyer for item not received, I advise you to contact eBay support before responding to the dispute and point out that the parcel was shipped exactly to the address provided by the buyer.
If the parcel shows a TRUNCATED shipping address and therefore different from the one visible on eBay, the responsibility for the failed delivery lies with you.
Have you checked that the shipping label showed the buyer’s address exactly?
In any case, in both situations, the parcel will remain in storage for an approximate period of 15 days after which it will be returned to you.

OP1 year agoI printed the label from ebay. In any case, the tracking shows the first delivery attempt was simply missed because the recipient was absent, so the address was correct; on the second attempt, the message about an incorrect/incomplete address comes up, so honestly I don't know what happened. Anyway, I wanted to know what was happening with the payment in the meantime.

Since the number of available characters is limited, there may be problems during the label creation phase and part of the address could get cut off.
The seller is responsible for verifying that the address on the Packlink label is the same as the one provided by ebay.

OP1 year agoI checked and everything is there, in fact as I keep saying the first attempt says that simply the recipient wasn't at home, it's only with the second one that that notification came up. Anyway I just need to know what happens with the payment since as far as I know at worst the package will just come back to me

·1 year agoAs a new seller or occasional seller, payment remains blocked for at least 15 days, regardless of what happens to the shipment.

·1 year agoI thought I had been clear... "regardless of what happens to the shipment" means that the release of the funds does NOT depend on the shipment, so whether it gets delivered or is sent back to you, the funds will be released anyway.
