Paypal, purchase protection?

I'm starting to have quite a few doubts about PayPal's buyer protection; the last purchase, for a new item that arrived badly packed and not working (you could hear the parts rattling around inside),

I immediately asked for a return, PayPal started a refund which at first was only 50%, and only thanks to my check and opening a dispute did I get the other half back, not to mention another item that didn't work, and because more than a certain number of days had passed I could do nothing but keep it broken and fix it myself. Not to mention sellers registered as professional sellers who don't issue an invoice, not to mention those for whom you have to pester them to death to get the invoice and who bank on the fact that if you're careless they won't send it.

I'm not here to ask for advice from the self-righteous who say "but you should have done this or that", I'm just pointing out the bad practices that reign on eBay.

If you bought an item on eBay, you should open an eBay dispute, which usually protects the buyer more than PayPal does.

PayPal requires that return shipping costs for non-conforming items be paid by the buyer, whereas on eBay they are paid by the seller.

On eBay there are standardized procedures that usually do not require partial refunds from eBay unless these are agreed upon by mutual consent between the seller and the buyer.

On PayPal, instead, there are human operators who can make different decisions depending on the situation.

If you are a buyer, it’s always better to open an eBay dispute because you usually enjoy greater protections on purchases.

In fact, since then I started shopping on Amazon and now also on Aliexpress, little by little I will definitely leave this platform.

Do as you like, but why complain on eBay about PayPal buyer protection?

eBay has a different protection system from the one offered by PayPal.
