First sale: tips
I put an item up for sale (for the first time). It was bought in no time at all. The buyer asked for shipping to Italy but the name is Chinese. I checked and they asked me to ship to a courier, which I assume will forward it on to them. I checked the feedback (99% positive out of 150) but it’s almost always the same users leaving reviews and with the same sentence. Is it a scam? Should I ship it?

·1 year agoWhen you’re just starting to make sales, even if there’s a noticeable lull, buy offers at rock-bottom prices or rapid, unexpected purchases pop up like mushrooms in the undergrowth. In the first case, these are users who invite the seller to make the deal of the year. They offer half the price of the item but instant payment outside the platform, shipping included. They’re after sterile dialogue, and you shouldn’t waste time replying. In the second case, they are always buyers who ask you to ship to an address different from the one registered. Suddenly there are cities in Singapore, Burkina Faso, or Borneo. The names are always Chinese and in other cases Korean or African. The messages sent to the seller almost always have these tones: Hi, I buy very nice your item for my wife I pay right away. But ship please to Borneo where wait legal. Signed Cin cion ciun cia Che zu le thu Fhu li. (Chinese names are often very long). Don’t ship anything and wait for a message from a domestic buyer. And good genuine transactions.

·1 year agoYou have to ship IN ITALY exactly to the shipping address you see on eBay.
NEVER SHIP TO AN ADDRESS DIFFERENT FROM THE ONE YOU SEE ON EBAY, otherwise you’ll get scammed.
If you notice that the shipping address is wrong or incomplete, in this case I suggest you contact the buyer to ask for clarification, advise them to correct the shipping address, cancel this sale and then buy the item again with the correct address.
