Send a package on your own behalf
Good morning,
in my listing I selected a delivery method "paccocelere 3" because I wasn’t given the option to select nothing and I still thought I could handle the shipment myself by going to the post office like I used to a few years ago.
Now I find myself with a button that says "verify and pay" already selected and I can’t understand what I’ll be charged for and why I’m forced to use this packlink, I would just like to go to the post office the old way and ship the package myself, also because it seems to me that the service I had selected was very expensive.
I apologize for the triviality of the question, I haven’t been on Ebay for a few years and I’m really feeling lost.
Thank you.

OP3 years agoAnyway, I’m renewing the request to others regarding that button in my screenshot, whether I should expect charges or not.
Thanks everyone.

·3 years agoI've never had that happen before, and then I don't know if things have changed by not selling. If I remember correctly, a few years ago I got a message with the option to enable the shipping manager or not.
I didn't enable it; could it be that you have the shipping manager enabled without knowing it? Check in your account settings.
Anyway, they wrote to you that you can do it yourself, so don't click on it. Check next time and if you can't, contact support in chat.

OP3 years agoThanks to everyone for the valuable information, which will certainly come in handy next time.

The thing is, either I selected a shipping method or I couldn’t proceed with filling out the listing, so I chose one that I can guarantee had the wording "paccocelere3", I can’t explain it.
You feel disoriented when faced with services that are forced on you from the outset, without their operation being explained.
@actar80
I checked in the settings but I can’t find the item in question. Thanks.

·3 years agoI checked the entries in my account, but since I'm no longer enabled as a seller and never activated the manager in the past, maybe I don't see the relevant option. But do you use the simplified form or the advanced one to create your listings? I'm asking because the advanced one lets you select or deselect multiple fields, including any that may already be prefilled.
I found the shipping manager page, you might find some useful info there (there's also a contact us section at the bottom)
https://www.ebay.it/spaziovenditori/spedizione/spedizione-rapida-sicura-gratuita/gestore-spedizioni
Anyway, unless a more experienced user who knows the service well replies, the only thing I can suggest is to contact eBay support in chat.

·3 years agoThe thing is that you have to select one or more shipping methods before putting an item up for sale. And for each different shipping method you enter, you'll add the different price.
The customer needs to know how and at what price the item will be shipped, before making the purchase and without needing to contact the seller by email. And eBay will enter an estimated delivery date based on the shipping type.
For my record sales I almost always put the option between DHL courier or PosteDelivery, because with the courier you have to be at home/at the office when they come by, but not everyone can do that, while with Poste Italiane they should leave a notice so you can then go to the post office to collect the parcel left in storage (or at least it was like that until some time ago).

·3 years agoGood morning,
you can easily do that, nobody forces you to use eBay's service... anyway, as already said, Pacco celere 3 no longer exists, replaced by Poste Delivery Standard at a cost of €9.40... shippable from a post office.
Kind regards.

·3 years agoI don’t know anything about that button, I’m only replying to say that if I, as a customer, see "Paccocelere 3" in the listing, I expect the package to be shipped with what used to be "Paccocelere 3" (which no longer exists https://www.packlink.it/poste-italiane/postedelivery-web/ ) and is now called "Poste Delivery Web". Not with a different and/or cheaper shipping method.
Through eBay’s Shipping Manager https://spedizioni.ebay.it/private the options for one of the packages I’ve shipped most often, namely vinyl records, are:
PosteDeliveryWeb (ex Paccocelere3) Euro 6,04 + VAT = 7,36
PosteDeliveryExpress (ex Paccocelere1) Euro 6,09 + VAT = 7,42
Both are paid online and after printing the form you go to the Post Office to ship.
Otherwise there are other options with package pickup at home. Or choose Registered Mail if the item to be shipped is small and within the allowed dimensions. Or even Posta1 if it’s something of little value.

OP3 years agoI'm attaching a screenshot of the grayed-out button.
What could I possibly have paid for?
In the transactions I don't see anything and I'm stuck with the shipment.
