shipment out for delivery for a week and refund requested
Good evening, an item I sold and shipped via Packlink with Poste Delivery has been marked as out for delivery since March 7 and then again today with today’s date, but it has never arrived at the recipient... he’s asking me that if he doesn’t receive it by Friday he wants to be refunded? Wouldn’t it be better for me to wait for the time limit to expire before opening the PayPal dispute so that if it arrives in the meantime, we’re both all set?
What do you suggest?

OP2 years agoUPDATE:
the package arrived today and, of course, given the ordeal it went through, the contents are a bit wrinkled (it's a rolled-up poster).
The buyer sent me photos asking what to do.
What do you suggest? The options I was thinking of are 2:
a) I refund him 3 euros on an item that cost 6.50€
b) I tell him I'll send another one, but at this point I wouldn't want to eat the shipping costs and I should ask him for a contribution toward transport.
I should point out that I'm not a professional seller and the profit margins are very small.

·2 years agoSorry max.christmas, but how do you ship posters?
Usually they should be rolled up and put into a sturdy tube or, if that’s not possible, a less sturdy tube with larger/bulkier packaging so as to cushion any rough handling by the courier.
Ask him how much he wants to be compensated; don’t impose the 3-euro amount on him yourself — we’re talking about pocket change. Maybe he’s the one who’ll suggest a 3 or 4 euro refund, but that way things take a whole different turn.
Best regards.

OP2 years agoHi, I’ve shipped dozens and dozens of posters over the years and never had any problems. The package was bounced from one warehouse to another by mistake, and there’s no packaging that can hold up to that.

·2 years agoThese are the suggested guidelines.....then you are free to ship it however you think is best.

·2 years agoSince we're on the topic, I wanted to add: if the guidelines for proper packaging are not followed (I'm speaking in general, not in the specific case of this discussion) and you decide to insure the parcel, in the event of any claims the insurance will ask for photos of the parcel and the packaging; if they do not comply with the guidelines of the broker / courier in question, the refund request could be rejected.
So if you're shipping valuable items, please pay close attention to this aspect as well.
Kind regards.

·2 years agoHi, when it says the item is out for delivery and then it doesn't get delivered, it's very likely (from past experience) that the system says it's out for delivery, but in reality the package may have fallen into some nook or cranny of the warehouse. I recommend you immediately file a dispute with the post office (online) for undelivered item. at least they'll take a look at it and often you can solve it. if they really don't want to know, write a PEC to: reclamiretail@postecert.it I recently resolved a huge mess..... but in the end they delivered it

OP2 years agoHi, before 14 days from the shipping date I can't open the claim... as soon as the 14 days are up I'll take care of it

·2 years agoHe wrote that he bought the shipment from Packlink on eBay.
The postal service will not accept his claim; for them, the sender is Packlink.
He must deal exclusively with Packlink.

·2 years agoIf the seller has purchased a Poste Italiane shipment through a broker, the seller must contact the broker, who may then get in touch with Poste Italiane.
In the specific case, the seller purchased a shipment with Packlink, so he can open / forward a complaint with this broker even before the 14 days; after that, once the 14 days have passed, he can ask to have the ticket converted into an official claim for a lost/misplaced/stolen/undelivered package....... but not before the 14 days.
From that moment on, it will take about another month to receive any refund of up to 30 euros if purchased on ebay-packlink (if the basic uninsured service was used) (always assuming that in the meantime the package doesn't turn up and/or gets delivered).
Kind regards.

·2 years agoI advise you to wait for the buyer to open a dispute for item not received; in the meantime you’ll have a few more days before eBay issues the refund, and maybe the package will be delivered by then.
You can offer the buyer, in addition to an apology for the delay, a small refund on the shipping cost when the package arrives, so as to show that you care about him....
I used Poste Delivery Business too for a while, I made about fifteen shipments with it before deciding to چھوڑ it because it was too "UNPREDICTABLE".
Delivery times sometimes take 10 or more business days, so if you don’t want problems with buyers, consider one of these two options:
- extend the packing and shipping times (you can change them when creating the auction) in this way eBay will provide longer delivery estimates that the buyer will have to wait for before being able to open a claim for item not received.
But in any case, long delivery times lead buyers to be overall dissatisfied with the buying experience, which may then affect the final ratings.
- choose another courier such as BRT (also provided by eBay-shipping) which delivers in about 24-48 hours, islands excluded and disadvantaged areas too.
Kind regards.
