The shipments purchased on ebay today are of two types: - the old system managed by packlink (spedizioni.ebay.it) which has ticket-based support (reeaally slow) and a minimal form of insurance for lost items that can be increased for a fee. - the new system that you can pay for with your ebay balance, which I discovered has no kind of insurance or post-shipment support, but is about 10% cheaper than the first method. It's up to you to decide which one to use; from my experience I can tell you that packages can sometimes get "lost", so for now I avoid the new shipping system. If later on they improve the 2nd system with even basic support and insurance, I might go back to using it, but then maybe the costs will go up....
I agree..... I’ll add a few things: Ebay first-level support, reachable via chat (if you can even get through...... but I won’t go into that here) , is currently completely unprepared..... (but I wasn’t expecting otherwise.... every time there are updates, important or not, it seems they DO NOT inform basic support......) , moreover these days it will be "bogged down" by users asking for clarification..... so waiting times will be much longer......
it may not be possible to modify the address with additions or clarifications (on Ebay / Packlink instead yes...... or by using other couriers outside Ebay's management..... )
it is not clear what happens in the event of non-delivery (for example: what happens if the buyer enters an incorrect address or one with insufficient details? )
it is not clear where to open a possible ticket in case of delivery problems related to the new management.
I’ll stop at these considerations, the fact remains that at the moment the written rules do not provide any indication and support, assuming they understand the questions asked via chat, seems completely unprepared..... in short, using the new system is cheaper, but at present it can turn out to be risky....... at least until several points are clarified.......
In the event of non-delivery or problems with the shipment, the seller cannot make any claim and is not refunded for either the item or the shipping purchased on eBay. You cannot contact either Packlink or the courier itself.
On the label you receive from eBay for the shipment, the sender is not the seller but EBAY GMBH.
The support is totally unprepared and replies like a bot.
They close the case on you and you lose your money.
I recommend not buying the labels directly from eBay but using the page "spedizioni.ebay.it" which is managed by Packlink even if it costs a little more.
