Replaced truffle pieces
I wanted to sell my laptop, which is worth quite a bit here on eBay, but I was thinking they could buy it, request a return, and send me my computer back with missing parts, saying that I sent it like that. Is it really that easy to get scammed, or am I wrong and is there a way to prevent this?

·2 years agosince, basically, the same question was asked 7 months ago', if you don't read it, it seems fair that the answer can wait a few months....... but hadn't you already sold it in Cyprus?

OP2 years agono, precisely because of this risk I cancelled the deal. The question I asked back then was a bit more specific on the foreign matter. Now, since it is still unused, I thought of reselling it again and I wanted to clear up this doubt of mine.

·2 years agoIf you cancelled the sale back then, causing inconvenience to the buyer, the only thing that might have changed in the meantime is your mindset regarding your willingness to sell.
If you create these negative mental scenarios for yourself and get anxious even before you’ve sold anything, I recommend avoiding remote sales.

·2 years agook, anyway in the replies users gave back then, it was implied that, whether foreign or not, if you find an “less-than-honest” buyer the problem (or doubt.... if you want to call it that.....) still exists .... but that’s generally true even if you use other platforms with distance selling ;
if someone really doesn’t want to take any risks, you can try selling it the “old” way : local listing with pickup/hand delivery and cash payment....... (hoping that then the buyer, in case of problems, isn’t one of those who “tails” you all the way to your house..... obviously if they know where you live..... ) ; so, in the end, it depends on what you decide to do ....
