Selling without accepting returns.
Good morning, I would like to sell a natural Agate stone but since it is a delicate item I don't want the return option.
While uploading the item EBAY tells me there is an error, and it won't let me go any further. I have attached a screenshot.
Is it possible that I must accept returns for an item that may have fallen and chipped or deteriorated.
Thank you

·3 years agoI would add that even a private seller who does not accept returns is still required to provide assistance in the event that the buyer receives a chipped or damaged item, which is therefore very different and/or does not match the description or photos.

·3 years agoAs Sika told you, it is a legal obligation of yours (pursuant to Legislative Decree 206/05). You would have the same responsibilities regardless of the platform used. Under the same regulations, you are responsible for packaging and transport until it reaches the customer's hands.

·2 years agoWell said up to the customer's hands. But can a buyer claim that the item arrived broken into a thousand pieces and ask to return it to the seller (private individual) after a full 4 days from receiving the package? (This happened to me personally. I do not intend to accept the return because 4 days have passed during which they could have dropped it, for example). ???

·2 years agoThe customer, on eBay, has 30 days to open a return procedure. If it’s for a non-conforming item, even a private seller is forced to accept the return (with shipping costs also at their expense).
But that’s the lesser problem; in any online purchase, if they paid by credit card, they have more than a year to convince their bank they were scammed and to get their money back from you.

·2 years agoRight or wrong, the online sales system is biased in favor of the buyer.
I confirm what Mario said.

·2 years agoYou have to stick to eBay’s rules, a seller can’t set their own post-sale rules.
NOT EVEN IF THEY WRITE THEM IN CLEAR LETTERS INSIDE THE AUCTION.
Sellers have very little room to maneuver in this respect.
Best regards.

·3 years agoGood morning,
if you are a professional seller, by law you are required to accept every type of return, including change of mind!
So if they open any type of claim for you... whatever the reason (dropped and it chipped or deteriorated) you are required to accept it, or else you risk losing the item and the money... because eBay will refund it on your behalf...
Kind regards.
