Selling digital products, is it legal?
Hi everyone, I've seen a lot of listings on eBay from sellers reselling digital products for consoles and PCs, like games and subscriptions. I was wondering, would it be legal for me to start selling these products? Is it possible? With a profit of maybe 5 euros, but every day, would I still be considered a private seller?

·1 year agoOn ebay, the sale of digital products is not allowed without being able to prove actual authorization to sell them. Therefore, this type of sales would be reserved for professional sellers pre-authorized by ebay.
In addition, if you buy something to resell it and be able to make a profit from it, you must be a professional seller with a VAT number, etc…

OP1 year agoSo whoever does it, with those ads I saw, is committing something illegal? I imagine there isn’t a way to do it legally without an endless process, right? Thanks a lot

·1 year agoAs you could also see, there are countless auctions of this kind by private sellers.
They are in fact violating eBay’s rules.
What happens to these sellers?
The first time and/or the first few times, eBay will close the auctions that do not comply with the rules.
After that, the seller could receive a series of restrictions that entail limits or a block on sales, up to a temporary or permanent suspension of their account.
When a seller receives a PERMANENT suspension on their eBay account, they will no longer be able to open another eBay account in their name.
So in my opinion it isn’t worth the trouble because, among other things, the sale proceeds could also be held.
Kind regards.
