EBay invoices and VAT number
Summary: dtmotors raised an issue regarding the invoices received from eBay, which do not show their company VAT number, with 22% VAT applied, making it impossible to deduct the cost of the fees. Despite attempts to resolve the issue through support, they only receive ineffective automated replies. cicos755 suggests providing the VIES registration in order to get invoices without VAT, but dtmotors says the settings are correct and, even so, the problem persists. Other participants, such as zaborraracing, offer advice on how to download and manage the invoices manually, while sika700 points out the need for a specific registration to obtain VAT-exempt invoices, even if part of VIES.
Hello, we registered a few months ago as a company with a basic store, but on the invoices we receive our VAT number is not shown, they charge us 22% VAT but we don’t even receive the electronic invoice, so we can’t deduct the costs of the fees in any way; We’ve asked support several times, but we always get the same response, which doesn’t help us in any way
Has anyone ever been in a similar situation? And above all, how did you solve it?

·2 days agoHi dtmotors.
Log in to your eBay Seller Console (it's better with a PC).
Click on Payments.
Scroll down until you find Reports on payments and taxes
Click on Invoices
You'll find the list of documents issued by eBay (invoices and credit notes).
Print them and, as required by law, by the 10th of the following month proceed with self-invoicing for services purchased from abroad.
Of course, this is if you're on regular accounting.
You will never be able to receive eBay invoices on SDI, since SDI does not exist abroad.

OP2 days agoHi, this has already been done, the problem is that on the invoice my VAT number (SRL) is not shown anywhere, and the accountant can’t do anything about it, and another problem is that it charges 22% VAT on the invoices when it shouldn’t because, since the office is in Germany, I should get a foreign invoice without VAT, so I can pay it when issuing the self-invoice, as with all foreign invoices; It’s absurd that after 3 months and hundreds of emails they keep replying to me with AI-generated emails that always tell me the same thing, I don’t understand why, since I also pay for the shop every month and with the fees there isn’t an agent or someone by email who is able to modify the data and issue the invoice correctly.

·2 days agoIn the account settings under "Public company information," is the VAT number field filled in correctly?

·2 days agohi, the invoices don't come to me, but I upload them manually to my management system, and automatically it creates a self-invoice to then send to the agency, you can find the invoices right on eBay, you download it and enter it manually if you have a management system

·2 weeks agoProfessional sellers receive invoices from EBAY without VAT because EBAY is legally based in Germany. You need to send an email and provide your VIES registration. After that, EBAY checks it and sends you an invoice without VAT.
If you are under the flat-rate scheme, on the 16th of the month following the issue date you must pay the VAT on the EBAY invoice via F24.
If you are under the standard VAT regime, you have to issue a self-invoice without paying VAT

OP2 weeks agoHello, thanks for the reply, we are a limited liability company registered in the VIES for 10 years and we also import from abroad, the main problem is that at the end of the month they send us an invoice with the company details and address, but without VAT number, only name and address, the amounts are with 22% VAT, it is a simple invoice, but we cannot deduct it in any way because we do not receive the invoice through SDI and we do not receive the net foreign invoice (so as to pay VAT via self-invoice); in this way we pay VAT twice, once with the eBay invoice for fees with 22% VAT and the second time when we issue a fiscal receipt;
We have tried in every way to communicate with eBay, the replies are always automatic from AI and lead to no result, the seller account is set to business, the VAT number is entered correctly... honestly I do not understand how it is possible that after 3 months still no contact person or real human has solved this problem for us, given that we pay a subscription as a shop and substantial fees.. we no longer know what to do

·2 weeks agoIf you receive the invoice with VAT, you have not communicated the Vies registration. To contact us, send a message and do not use the chat. The relevant department will reply to you

·2 weeks agoThis answer is not correct.
To get the VAT-exempt invoice, you need to register the VAT number through the appropriate procedure; even if you are part of VIES, the VAT-exempt invoice is not automatic, you have to explicitly request it... but I don’t remember the procedure...
Best regards.

·2 weeks agoThe invoice must be requested every time at the moment of purchase (or before) directly from the seller (providing them with all the necessary data so they can issue it). Obviously, it must be a professional EU seller who can issue a valid invoice.
