Are your sales down too?
Summary: In the discussion, several participants express concerns about a significant drop in sales. emporio1150 noted a sudden decrease in orders, emphasizing that they are not the only one experiencing this problem. ricambimalta1981 adds that the situation is getting worse over time.
Good morning everyone,
I'm not sure if it's just me...but I'm noticing a significant drop in sales.
Are you guys having this problem too?
Do you have a solution now that you've solved it?
Best regards, Mirko

·Aug 11, 2026 at 6:35 AMSame here, sales have been down for ages, and then since they filled the entire front page with Ebay live streams, it’s gone from bad to worse

·1 month agogood evening, I was about to ask the usual question too... I noticed a significant drop in orders... from one day to the next. I thought it was just my problem... but I see I'm not the only one.

·2 months agoNo, I don't have any solution of any kind. I did well last month because of a specific sale I made in the UK that paid off well (sale of an item I'd had listed there for three years, incidentally), but this month I expect absolute death. Italians aren't buying, foreigners aren't buying, nobody's buying. It's going to be a complete and total massacre.

OP2 months agoWell... I seem to understand that sales are down...
they're probably doing a structural reorganization.
Let's hope it passes soon... because it really is a mess.

·2 months agoUnfortunately, these periods happen. Last month, after raising the prices even on items because of the release of the post 1, I had a noticeable drop in the first 3 days; keep in mind it’s all an algorithm. Then the situation stabilized; I was selling slightly less than before, but I was selling. The last 3/4 days of the month, sales, impressions, and views dropped by about 20%; believe me, from one day to the next without me doing anything. I don’t think it was the price increase because it happened after a month and people were still buying, in fact I even sold some items better, probably because of the free-delivery green check shipping in two days. I always check the rankings and the prices are in line, almost always among the first search results and some even first. I try to keep bringing new products; sponsored listings have always been dynamic with added markup basically since the option came out, so for years. In fact, when I see it dropping, I raise it slightly... At the beginning of the month the situation picked up again, but some days really seem a bit flat even though the views are there. Still, I’m telling you, that drop compared to last month and the other months is there; it’s obvious. Unfortunately, it’s all an algorithm. It’s happened to me with products that sold well, and suddenly they stopped selling for months.... Maybe it’s also the time of year, I don’t know, but that’s commerce: there are good periods and bad periods

·2 months agoyes, for those who use eBay professionally, you have to specialize in how algorithms work because nowadays all the professionals who sell the same products as other competitors sponsor their listings.
So sponsoring no longer offers any advantage when there are so many other competitors.

·2 months agoFrom personal experience, after Posta 1 was discontinued and I inevitably had to raise prices to replace it with couriers, there was a drop... But it was probably also a matter of the algorithm, bearing in mind that there were sweeping changes to shipping rules/methods and price increases. I tried not to raise them too much so as not to kill the market, but enough to use the courier.... So the first few days, yes, a significant drop in sales, almost halved, but now everything seems to have settled down; in fact, on some items I’m even selling them better than before, maybe because now fast, free delivery in two days is shown. Unfortunately the market is like that, there are months when you make less, months when you make more... It’s also a bit about the time of year, but I can confirm that once I used to sell more daily and monthly.... I’d also add that before you could make more on eBay, if you notice any item sold now is marked as sold with sponsored listings, which have always been used for years; before it was a mix of organic and sponsored, in short before out of 20 daily sales maybe 13 were sponsored and 7 organic (so eBay didn’t keep the advertising commission), now all 20 are marked as sponsored and they take money from you for each sale.... Change made on the platform around June/July last year.... If things slow down, meanwhile you sell half or even less.... Anyway don’t worry, it’ll be the period; I then try to always bring new products to the store at least monthly or every two months

·2 months agoActually, sales are down, at least for me, by a lot. I sell stone necklaces and costume jewelry, very low prices and shipping discounts. As far as I’m concerned, I think the problem is Temu. Cute items at a ridiculously low cost. Mine are unique pieces... theirs aren’t. I’m counting on that!

·2 months agoAs a buyer, I haven't bought on eBay for a very long time.
I buy EVERYTHING on Temu or Aliexpress.
The searches have become confusing, there are lots of items coming from abroad by default and the average user doesn't even know that search filters exist....
I don't mind seeing items from all over Europe in the search results, but then you end up with shipping rates of 10 or 15 euros for small items and 30 or 40 euros for larger items, and that's where everything falls apart.
If I have to buy a pressure cooker from France and pay 30~40 euros for shipping, you don't have much chance of finding interested bidders.
On other marketplaces there are integrated shipping options managed by the platform for all of Europe for 5 to 6 euros for that pressure cooker.
eBay should reorganize shipping services across Europe at the level of other marketplaces and offer discounted rates for small items in Italy starting from 1.99 euros and 3.99 euros for Europe.
Amazon's strength was centralized purchase management; you didn't have to struggle with the seller, you managed everything from the platform.
But Amazon has become uneconomical for small items, and Temu and Aliexpress have made their way in by keeping the winning strategy of centralized management (any issue is handled through the platform very simply without having to struggle with the seller of the moment) and they have outclassed all the other marketplaces on prices.
The positive thing about eBay is that a seller has MUCH more freedom to manage sales; you're not tied to choosing the shipping service imposed by the platform, and you have the chance to interact with the buyer to solve problems (maybe even via phone or WhatsApp, which are more interactive and immediate), so it's a platform model I prefer above all.
Best regards.

·2 months agoYou sell specific electronic components, so the problem might be that posta1 no longer exists and you can’t sell an item for 1 euro and 3.50 with posta1.
As an alternative you should use posta4 (not recommended) or a courier, but you’d be priced out of the market.
This is really a big problem.
posta1 pro must have had thousands of subscribers who have now been abandoned by poste italiane.
Good luck.
P.S. Update the shipping rates if you don’t want to end up giving the items away or canceling the sales.

·2 months agoebay is a nice platform but it's losing ground to other solutions that, helped by very low shipping costs and taxes, make it possible to buy for less. Inflation, higher gas prices and basic necessities further discourage people
