Hello everyone,
I’d like to buy a sewing machine from a private seller in Australia for a total of 800€.
How can I find out, besides shipping, how much customs
would cost me?

For a more precise calculation:
1. You should go to the customs website and look up the product’s tariff code to see how much duty it pays from Australia.
2. Calculate the duty on the total of item+shipping.
3. Add VAT at 22% to the total item+shipping+duty.
4. Go to the courier’s website and see what their charges are for assistance with Italian customs and for advancing the taxes.
