Good evening, I recently bought a torque wrench from a private seller. In the listing, in the "Returns" section, it was specified that: Returns are not accepted. Unfortunately, I didn’t check the two photos in the listing carefully enough and relied on the title and description, which read as follows. Before buying, I also asked the seller whether the item was new and he answered yes (but I’ll come back to that ). Listing title: Wurth Torque Wrench 40-200 Nm 1/2” Torque Wrench with Case 0714 750200 DESCRIPTION: I’m selling a professional Wurth torque wrench with original case. Features: Brand: Wurth Code: 0714 750 200 Tightening range: 40-200 Nm Drive: 1/2" Precise torque adjustment Professional/workshop use Original case included as shown in the photo. Condition as shown in the photo. Fast shipping and careful packaging. What’s the problem? Searching that code on the Internet and looking more closely at the photos, it turns out that it is a torque wrench with a 14 x 18 mm square drive, therefore it is not a 1/2 drive. At that point I wrote to the seller, admitting my mistake, telling him that the wrench had arrived, but that only then had I realized that it was not the usual wrench with a 1/2" drive, but rather a 14 × 18 mm one. It’s true that this information could be found from the product code, but in my opinion the title and description were still misleading. The seller claims that the listing correctly identified the product through the item code and the photos. He also points out that the reference to "1/2"" was related to the tool’s compatibility and not to the model sold. He therefore states that the shipped item matches the advertised one and, consequently, refuses the return, citing the listing clause that excludes returns. Now I’m here asking you: in cases like this, how do you think one should behave? Does the photo carry more weight than the title and description, or not? And I’ll also end by saying that, if we really want to be picky, the wrench’s engraving shows signs of rust, and on the back of the wrench there’s a glue residue..which makes me think that maybe it wasn’t "brand new" after all...or at least it wasn’t stored well..Of course this definitely doesn’t affect functionality, but I’m just pointing it out. Thanks to anyone who wants to give me an opinion.
