Controversy
Hello, this is the first time I’ve found myself asking for help, I’m not really sure what to do, or even if I’m in the right place. I bought an item on preorder on September 21, with an estimated release date of November 20, paying for it in full. A few days before that estimated date, the item (a Funko) came out everywhere. I wait a bit longer (if I’m not mistaken, November 27) and then I contact the seller, who replies right away but says they would only ship after Lucca Comics because they’ll be busy there. Even though there were still days to go before the event and even though, very unprofessionally, they didn’t warn me, I decide to wait and give them the benefit of the doubt. I let Lucca Comics end and today the 7th, still receiving no communication, no tracking, nothing, I decide to request a refund directly through eBay, without writing to them because I’m disappointed. eBay tells me I’m not covered (I did pay with PayPal anyway) but that they will forward a message with the request (I chose a refund) and follow up with me. The seller replies right away and tells me to cancel the dispute because the Funko was ready to ship this morning (...) and if I don’t close it I won’t see the tracking. Now it seems to me that first they should provide the tracking and then I can close it because a solution has been reached, right? If I close the dispute and they don’t ship, then I can’t do anything anymore, right? Not even with PayPal? That’s what I don’t understand: since I’ve never been in this situation, I don’t know if the procedure is correct or if they’re simply leading me into making a mistake. I’ll add that the seller has many positive feedbacks and that before this request to close the dispute, I had only thought they were not very serious. Thanks to anyone who can help me.

Mentore1 year agoYou only have the PayPal dispute, don’t close it at all until you’ve received the refund or the item.
You can easily view the tracking even with the dispute open.

Mentore1 year agoUnfortunately, you made a purchase that would have been prohibited on ebay, so you cannot take advantage of ebay guarantees. https://www.ebay.it/help/policies/listing-policies/regole-sulla-prevendita?id=4252&st=3&pos=1&query=Regole%20sulla%20prevendita&intent=prevendita&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1252
You will need to contact the payment method you used (dispute on the PayPal site or chargeback from the credit card).

OP1 year agothe future. So whether I close the dispute or not doesn't change anything and
it all comes down to the Seller's honesty. Thanks for the answer, I'll do
as you asked and trust him, then if necessary I'll turn to
PayPal.
