if you are buying a new item from a professional EU seller, you are entitled to a 2-year legal warranty... but if you buy from a private seller, you are not entitled to any warranty.
The eBay customer guarantee, on the other hand, protects you against not receiving the purchased product and against it not being as described within 30 days.
