Post office pickup point, Fermopoint... what a mess!
Summary: marpas999 started a discussion expressing confusion about postal pickup point services and Fermopoint.
Good morning everyone,
from what I understood, the option to use FermoPoint for books is no longer available, because books would have been removed from the items that can be shipped this way. However, it still seems possible to select shipping to a Poste pickup point, since in that case there would be no restrictions for books.
Until not long ago I used to buy books without any trouble by having them shipped to pickup points or Fermopoint, and it was a very convenient solution for me, also because I could choose the most convenient point closest to my home.
Lately, though, I see that the FermoPoint option has disappeared and you can only select shipping to a Poste pickup point.
The problem is that, with this option, it doesn’t seem possible to clearly choose which shop or specific pickup point the package will be delivered to. Also, when purchasing you have to enter your address and the whole process is not very intuitive. Right now, for example, I don’t know exactly where the package containing the book I’ll be sent will arrive, and that’s making me a bit worried.
So I would like to ask:
is it still possible to select the pickup point where you want to receive the item?
And do you know why such a convenient feature like FermoPoint for books was removed?
Thanks to anyone who can clarify.
