product review not published without any notice
Summary: The discussion concerns 93oettam’s frustration over a product review that was not published without any notice. sika700 and other participants interact in the thread, but the specific details are not available in the provided content.
I had a terrible buying experience with a seller who, among other things, has 100% positive feedback. I left a completely honest review, without crossing the line into insults or anything like that. I can’t find the review anywhere, and the seller, after an initial contact, is no longer replying.
How is this possible? How can a review be deleted without contacting the person who left it.

OP1 year agodear Massimo, you are overlooking so many aspects of what the right way to do business is, that you seem to me to be the mirror of this environment. I'm not an idiot, even if you're subtly trying to make me out to be one. In fact, the company I work for also operates here, even if my focus remains A..z.n. Do you want to stay like this? No problem. There must be a reason why we do 95% on one side and 5% on all the other marketplaces, including here.
I read a bit of your posts, all a bit "snobby" as they say where I'm from, the vast majority useful only for creating distance between here and the customer.
All the best.

Mentore1 year agoMeanwhile, I haven't read any useful comment of yours for the whole community, other than just insulting whoever replies to you.
They say the truth hurts... this is evidently one of those cases.
Also, remember that whoever replies to you has no decision-making power over eBay practices.
Have a nice day.

OP1 year agoand I repeat, written without defamation. Everything that was reported could be verified through the messages received via eBay. It really seems strange to me that percentage of positive feedback if you sell me, without warning, a product that is old in terms of manufacture and of very poor quality at twice its price. I got "ripped off" by that 100% feedback (my reasoning is "if they have 100% feedback and sell the product at twice the price of their competitors, I’m sure of the originality and quality of the product"). Now I have another piece of proof that buying on eBay or online makes no difference, so why should I pay more here if the user experience is terrible? Guys, I work for a company that operates both here and on the other one, the slightly more famous one, which makes the user experience worse even for sellers. I know how to write feedback without making mistakes or defaming anyone. And my feedback would simply have helped other users. Anyway, eBay’s reasoning and the possibility to appeal would have been enough. Instead, this removes the only leverage one has with the seller, who, oddly enough, has stopped replying to me via eBay.

OP1 year agoand furthermore... when I leave my feedback, the seller is absolutely notified by the system, so much so that I was contacted by phone 30 minutes after the feedback was left. Whereas not only was I not contacted regarding the removal of my feedback, but I can no longer see it and know what I was accused of.

Mentore1 year agoAbsolutely not... no seller is notified when feedback is left, whether it is positive or negative.
It's the seller who goes to look at it, nothing more!
Also, if you admit that you were ripped off, it's only your fault, I don't see why you should leave spiteful feedback; after all, nobody forced you to buy that exact item and the excuse that the seller had 100% feedback doesn't hold up.
Kind regards.

OP1 year agothe seller has the review on their account, they can dispute it, they can reply. as a customer I wasn’t able to have that opportunity.
If someone admits they got screwed over, it’s their fault? what world do you live in?
Do you have any idea what feedback is for? what are you even talking about?
and above all, I’m not a kid, I don’t do petty revenge. And honestly, you shouldn’t even dare to say that when you don’t know me.
Embarrassing if this is the support and spirit of this community. "if someone got screwed over, it’s only their fault".

You can also reply to their feedback (if they left it for you).
If someone admits they got ripped off, is it their fault? what world are you living in?
You should also explain the dynamics of the transaction: whether you returned it or not, whether you filed a return request, etc.
Embarrassed if this is the support and spirit of this community. "if someone got ripped off it’s only their fault".
You can also help improve the community’s answers too, if you want, instead of just feeling embarrassed; but I don’t see any other contributions from you here other than the one related to your problem.

Mentore1 year agoHe absolutely can’t contest it, he can reply with an additional comment and you... in turn... can reply again, as the buyer you always have the last word.
And whose would it be? If you realized you’d been ripped off, you just needed to be more careful... just thinking that with 100% feedback and the price double that of others you would have been nowhere near being ripped off... that is, in itself, a rip-off!
For nothing... if, for example, it was their first sale, what would 100% of the feedback have been useful for, since it only counts as a buyer??
I’m embarrassed too reading how users who consider themselves "experts" get bamboozled or ripped off so easily.
Keep it up.

OP1 year agothe feedback faithfully described the purchase experience, it was not defamatory and it was not posted after a dispute was opened and resolved. If this is the user experience that eBay offers, I’d say it’s no longer for me.

Mentore1 year agoSometimes, when describing a shopping experience faithfully, we give our own subjective judgments about the seller or draw general conclusions based on personal experience. These lack of objectivity and restraint make the feedback defamatory and cause it to be removed (at the request of the person who received it).
By way of example: you can write that the seller lied to you, but you cannot write that they lie, or you can write that they were rude, but not that they are rude.

Mentore1 year agoIf the feedback (which is not a review!) does not follow the marketplace rules, is defamatory, or is left after a resolved dispute has been opened, the feedback is removed.
As you don’t notify anyone when you leave it, it’s only right that no one notifies you if it gets removed.
Good evening.
