Other couriers, when you insure the parcel, ask you to enter the contents.
Many couriers do not allow the shipment of gold, silver, coins, etc.
Basically, if you insure the shipment, check that courier xyz allows the shipment of a gold coin; otherwise the insurance does not cover you in the event of loss or theft.
You can also send it by registered mail without declaring the contents if you want, but you can't insure it.

With other types of shipping you would do it at your own risk, the insurance of regular couriers does not cover valuables or cash.
