Scam
Summary: The discussion does not contain specific detailed content about the topic "Truffa" beyond the given topic.
I bought a refurbished Folletto vacuum cleaner, but it never arrived
I wrote to the seller, who never replied
I opened a case with PayPal and with eBay
eBay immediately closed it, telling me that I had already opened it with PayPal
PayPal accepts my case, but the seller/scammer sends a shipping number, incidentally a GLS courier, where I work
I immediately check the shipment and, of course, the recipient was not me; it was a shipment of 1 package, 1 kg, delivered to a certain Mr. Fonio; obviously the seller scammer provided a random shipment number and what do PayPal do without even carrying out further checks? They close the case in favor of the seller… just because he provided a random tracking number.
359 euros lost…
The reviews for this seller were positive, and I still wonder how that can be
anyway, I tried to open a report again with eBay and they tell me it's not possible since I had already opened it with PayPal…. I'll leave the conclusions to you…. I'm speechless

First of all, the correct procedure was through eBay.
If the seller provided a tracking number that does not match, open a chargeback request with your bank.
Kind regards.

·1 year agoFor what reason did you open the case with PayPal before (or at the same time as) the one with eBay?
PayPal didn’t receive the money on behalf of the seller... but on behalf of eBay (which in turn passes it on to the seller).
So you paid eBay through PayPal... and obviously, by opening a "claim" against them, they closed it by rejecting it.
The correct procedure is to dispute it on eBay and ONLY if you don’t get results (not even after a possible appeal), open it on PayPal.
