Hello everyone,I recently sold an item on eBay and, before shipping it, I noticed that eBay had flagged that the funds had been blocked and that they would be released in a month. Obviously this is not possible for me, because if I don't cover some expenses by the end of February I risk losing my job and, as a chain reaction, I could end up losing all the work for 2024.I was therefore undecided whether to cancel the sale or call eBay for clarification.So I decided to contact customer support (yesterday), where an operator assured me that as soon as the tracking code was entered, the system would automatically release the pending funds within 24 hours. I made sure several times over the phone, and feeling reassured by this news I shipped the precious lens the next day. Once the code was entered (automatic as eBay label) I waited to see a notification but unfortunately the system kept showing March 16 as the date for funds release. I waited patiently for a day and finally decided to contact customer support again, where a very kind Juli confirmed to me that unfortunately the funds would be blocked until mid-March. I patiently explained to her that this was impossible, I told her in detail what had happened and what I had been told by customer support the day before. She did some 'research' on her computer and ended up repeating to me that unfortunately the system was telling her that I would have to wait until mid-March.Obviously I told her to file a complaint, to put me through to the complaints department, to close the listing and cancel everything, but none of that was possible. And above all, to check and listen again to the RECORDED call from the previous day made with the colleague. The lady raised a ticket and told me that someone would get back to me but that basically there was nothing to be done.I wonder whether we need to be human, to be people, with operators on the phone who read and repeat like parrots decisions made automatically by the system and in any case have no possibility either to assess or to act in emergency or need situations, since they are bound by a computer...Needless to say, this is very sad and worrying.I hope eBay can provide us with help as soon as possible in this situation, as I am risking my job because of the negligence of one of their employees.Thank youU
